TNA Impact Review – July 10, 2025

TNA Impact July 10 review

On this week’s TNA Impact, the International Championship was on the line in a triple threat match and an 8-man tag team match headlined the show.

The opening video focused on the events of last week’s show, with Masha Slamovich defending her Knockouts Title in a Chain match, Jacy Jayne turning up in NXT and Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian getting the better of Joe Hendry and Mike Santana in the main event promo segment.

TNA Impact 10/7/25 from the UPMC Events Center in Township, Pennsylvania by Kristian Thompson

George Iceman was in the ring with a microphone. The crowd gave him the reception he deserved. He said mean things about Pennsylvania and introduced The Elegance Brand, ahead of the first match of the evening.

Match #1: The Elegance Brand w/ George Iceman & M vs Harley Hudson & Myla Grace

The Elegance Brand are on Slammiversary and the newbies are not, so that probably gives the result of this match away, if you were unable to work it out wrestling formulas by now. Heather and Myla started the match off. Heather ducked under a clothesline. Myla fought back with a Legsweep and a dropkick into the ropes. Ash tagged in. Myla tagged Harley, too. She challenged Ash to a test of strength. Ash hit a cheap knee shot. Hudson gave her an arm drag and a legdrop on the arm for a 2 count. Heather made a blind tag off the ropes. Hudson rolled her up for 2 and hit an arm ringer. She tried a move from the middle rope but Ash held her arms so Heather could hit a backbreaker. Heather scored a 2 count. She tossed Hudson into the corner and tagged in Ash. Ash hit a handspring elbow in the corner and a stiff dropkick for 2. Ash pummeled Hudson with right hands against the mat. She made another tag to Heather and hit Jaded, but it’s not a finishing move in TNA because it’s weak. Heather nailed a dropkick for a 2 count. She tried to lock in a sleeper hold but Hudson punched her way out of it. Heather sent her into the corner. Hudson knocked Ash down with a right hand and then ran into a clothesline from Heather. Both women made the tag to their teammates. Grace was on fire with clotheslines. Heather saved Ash from a reverse DDT. The face team sent their opponents face-first into each other. Ash hit a jawbreaker on Grace. She knocked Hudson off the apron. The Elegances set up for a double team move, but Hudson pulled Heather out of the ring. Grace rolled up Ash for a very close 2 count. Ash nailed Grace with a hard clothesline. She hit Rarified Air for the pinfall win after 6 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: The Elegance Brand

Analysis: *** I enjoyed that. Both teams worked well together. The Elegances wrestled seriously and it certainly makes for a better quality match when they do so.

Gia Miller was backstage with The Hardys and The Rascalz. Myron Reed was still there because Trey Miguel is still injured. Matt said he was excited to team with The Rascalz. Reed was excited to be back in a TNA ring. Matt pumped up the ladder match at Slammiversary.

Analysis: Matt usually takes over these promos, which is fine because he is an excellent talker.

Match #2: Cedric Alexander & The Great Hands w/ Tasha Steelz vs The Secret Service w/ Mustafa Ali

I’m not sure what to name each of these SS members. They were all in suits but at least they removed their sunglasses before the match started. It reminds me of Mr. Smith from The Matrix. If only they could kick like him. I would’ve held Alexander’s TNA debut off until Slammiversary just to make it more impactful. Ali walked to the back before the match even began. The SS member that kind of looked like Batista started the match with Skyler. Hotch tagged in with a dropkick and neckbreaker. Batista tagged out to the second teammate who hit a nice powerslam. He nailed a cheap shot on Skyler. Hotch hit a dropkick then the SS member tagged out to a longer-haired member. Alexander tagged in and was on fire with corner clotheslines. He punted the bigger two members. The long-haired member ran into a Michinoku Driver. Skyler hit a spear on the apron. Hotch used a moonsault from the top rope to the outside to take them both out. Alexander nailed the Lumbar Check on the long-haired member for the win after 3 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: Cedric Alexander & The Great Hands

Analysis: *3/4 An easy win to put over Alexander ahead of his match with Ali. Ali walking off fit his character. But he would be back.

Ali ran down and took Skyler and Hotch off the top rope. He hit Alexander with a chair shot to the ribs. Alexander went for the Lumbar Check but Steelz turned on him with a low blow from behind. Steelz kicked the chair to Ali. Ali nailed Alexander over the back with the chair. He wasn’t sure about Steelz’s actions.

Analysis: That was well done. Ali shouldn’t be outnumbered as the heel.

Match #3: Lei Ying Lee & Masha Slamovich vs NXT’s Fatal Influence

Jacy Jayne started against Lee. Jayne hit a cheap shot on Slamovich. She used some strikes against Lee and hit a corner elbow. Fallon Henley tagged in and hit a running elbow for a 2 count. Lee hit a big kick as Henley was mouthing off to Slamovich. Masha tagged in. They double-teamed Henley in the corner. Slamovich scored a 2 count. Lee tagged in and hit a leg sweep then a running knee. She hit a single-leg dropkick and then some right hands in the corner. Jayne distracted Lee so Henley knocked her to the floor, then hit a 619 around the ring post.

(Commercial break)

Jayne was legal against Lee now. She tossed Lee into the corner and stomped away on her. Jayne choked Lee out with her foot in the corner. She tossed Lee face-first against the ring mat, then locked in a choke hold. Lee got to her feet and backed Jayne into the corner. Jayne took control again with some stomps. Henley tagged in and they hit a double suplex on Lee. They exchanged forearm strikes and Henley targeted Lee’s knee off the Irish Whip for a 2 count. She hit a kick to the head for another nearfall. Jayne tagged in again and hit a running back elbow for 2. Henley tagged in again and nailed some strikes to the ribs. She used a crossface with Lee in a seated position. Lee got to her feet but Henley went back to the ribs with some knee strikes. Henley made another cover for 2. Henley was getting frustrated as she tried another unsuccessful pinfall. She backed Lee into the corner but Lee tossed her across the ring with an arm drag. Henley nailed Slamovich with a cheap shot to take her off the apron. She turned around and hit a powerslam on Lee for 2. Henley whipped Lee into the corner but she bounced out with a crossbody to finally make the tag. Jayne also tagged in. Slamovich was on fire with kicks in the corner on both opponents. She nailed a double-team clothesline/Flatliner and pinned Jayne for a 2 count. Slamovich tried a backslide for another nearfall. She hit some knee strikes but ran into a pump kick. Henley tagged back in. They whipped Slamovich hard into the corner and Henley hit a springboard neckbreaker from the middle rope which was nicely done. Jayne hit a big knee strike and Henley covered her but Lee was a bit off her timing to break the pin up so it was a bit awkward. Slamovich and Henley duked it out with exchanged right hands. Henley hit a forearm shot against the ropes but Slamovich hit one of her own. Henley hit a facebuster after bouncing off the ropes for another 2 count. The heels went for a double suplex but Lee prevented it. They tossed Lee over the top rope. Slamovich hit a big boot on Henley. She turned around and Jayne nailed her with a superkick. Henley tagged back in. They went for a double running knee but Lee pulled Jayne to the outside and blasted her with a right hand. Henley turned right into a spinning kick. Slamovich nailed the Snow Plow for the win after 11 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: Masha Slamovich & Lei Ying Lee

Analysis: ***1/2 I thought it was a high-quality women’s tag match that was given a lot of time. Henley is one of NXT’s better women but doesn’t really stand out a great deal. It was pretty clear that either her or Lee was going to lose the match for their team. Slamovich’s team winning might point to a Jayne/Jordynne Grace victory at Slammiversary. I really don’t think another TNA title needs to go to a WWE wrestler and I hope TNA management stop being pushovers about this. No TNA wrestler has even remotely looked like winning an NXT title except for Joe Hendry against Ethan Page last year.

There was a video package for the X-Division Championship match at Slammiversary. It will be a huge moment when Leon Slater wins the title against Moose.

Match #4: TNA International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Jake Something vs Mance Warner w/ SDL

Why couldn’t they just leave this match for another 10 days and have it on PPV? Surely, there’s not even time to set up a match next week for Slammiversary. Maclin, if he retains here, certainly deserves a spot on the card. Something and Warner started brawling before Maclin had even made his entrance. Maclin ran down to join the chaos. He clotheslined Something over the top rope. Maclin tossed Warner to the outside and hit a dive through the ropes to take him out. Something ran the ropes and took both opponents out with a dive over the top. He sent Maclin back into the ring and took him down with an Avalanche. Warner brought a steel chair in the ring and cracked Something over the back twice. He nailed Maclin in the ribs and then over the back. No disqualifications in a triple threat of course. He continued to beat Maclin down with chair shots to the ribs. Warner set the chair up in the ring then SDL passed him another one to set up opposite the first. Something came back into the ring and smashed Warner in the face with a forearm. He powerbombed Warner through the chairs but SDL put Warner’s foot on the rope before 3. Something missed a corner spear and Maclin took him down with clotheslines. Maclin hit a Thesz Press and a corner clothesline. He nailed a stiff clothesline. Warner came back in and ate an Olympic Slam. He put Warner in the Tree of Woe and hit a corner spear but Something broke the pinfall up. Something hit a sit-out powerbomb on Maclin for 2. He pulled him onto the top ropes for a superplex. Warner joined the fray. Something smacked him down with a forearm. Warner wouldn’t go down and they hit the Tower of Doom spot. They all exchanged right hands. Something took Maclin down to the mat. He smashed Warner in the face with another forearm. Something charged around the ring to take out Warner but SDL pulled him out of the way, so Something went crashing into the steel steps. Warner hit a DDT on Something on the steps. He went back into the ring to line up Maclin. Warner nailed his running knee for a close 2 count. Warner went for a DDT but Maclin countered it into a KIA for the win after 8 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Steve Maclin

Analysis: ***1/2 That was a lot of fun for a match under 8 minutes. It was physical from the outset, and they packed a lot into their allotted time. I am generally not a fan of how forearms have become a ‘thing’ in wrestling, but Something throws them as believably as anyone. Not those slow, back-and-forth soft ones that AEW does every match.

Tasha Steelz was shown in the parking lot ready to get into a limo. Ali wanted to know what she was doing. The Great Hands also confronted her. Steelz said she was sick of Order 4 losing and them not being championship material. She said because of her, Ali now has a marquee match at Slammiversary. Steelz said everyone is saying Alexander is better than Ali and he has to prove it next weekend. She told The Great Hands they were nothing before Order 4 and they’re going to go into Slammiversary as a unit. Ali said it was time for them to become the greatest faction in TNA. The System randomly walked in and overheard them. Eddie Edwards didn’t like them saying they were the greatest faction in TNA. JDC challenged them to a 6-man tag next week.

Analysis: That was a really good promo from Steelz. She was fired up and wasn’t taking any more rubbish from her stablemates.

In one of the most random things you could think up on a TNA show, Enzo Amore cut a pre-taped promo about breaking down the forbidden door. He asked what if he had a guy on the inside in TNA. Amore talked about turning up at Slammiversary.

Analysis: That was bizarre. I never was a fan of his. I do wish Morrissey stayed in TNA, though. He could’ve been a great champion, not a jobber with Jericho in AEW.

They played Mike Santana’s 138th New York City promo. We get it, you’re from NYC and you love it.

Match #5: Victoria Crawford w/ Tessa Blanchard vs Indi Hartwell

Hopefully this doesn’t last long because the outcome is super obvious. I have really enjoyed the Indi/Tessa feud. It’s been a personal rivalry. Crawford bailed to the floor early on. Indi got in Tessa’s face. Crawford kicked Indi as she got back into the ring. Indi fought out of a sleeper attempt. She tried for a Full Nelson but Crawford tossed her into the middle rope. Blanchard got in a cheap shot. Crawford hit the axe kick. For some reason, she didn’t go for the cover, even though it’s her finisher. Indi got up and hit a big boot to the face and that was it. That didn’t feel like the proper ending.

Winner by pinfall: Indi Hartwell

Analysis: * That was a bit of a mess. Crawford is awful. Why is she still in TNA? There are so many other women who deserve ring time over her.

Blanchard got a mic and cut a promo after the match. She referenced meat pies, which was funny to an Australian. Blanchard said she ends all their history at Slammiversary.

Santino Marella and Arianna Grace were backstage. Eric Young and his cronies stormed in and wanted answers. He asked why he kept getting kicked out of arenas. Young complained about the Hometown Man. He wanted Deaner gone forever. Marella said they need real proof that Deaner was dressing up as the HTM.

Analysis: This is awful, but at least Marella tries. He’s such a goof.

Next week:

* Non-Title match: Sami Callihan vs Moose
* Dani Luna vs Tessa Blanchard
* The System vs Order 4
* Joe Hendry & Mike Santana vs Frankie Kazarian & Trick Williams

Tom Hannifan Sits Down with Joe Hendry

They chatted about the Slammiversary main event. Hannifan asked what this match meant to Hendry. Hendry said he has watched TNA since its inception. He said it hurts him that we have a champion who has no regard for TNA. Hendry said Trick Williams disgusts him and it’s his responsibility to bring the title back to TNA. Hannifan reminded Hendry that Williams doesn’t even need to be pinned in the match. He addressed Santana being added to the match. Hendry said Santana deserved his spot but it’s not his time. He said Hendry is the guy in TNA and the one they go to for interviews. Hendry reminded Hannifan that he was at WrestleMania. He said Santana doesn’t have his experience but one day he will be the man in TNA. Hendry said that in NYC, in Santana’s territory, he has a hometown advantage. Hannifan asked if Hendry could redeem himself at Slammiversary. Hendry said he needed the fans, like he has all along. He said he will do whatever it takes to bring the TNA Championship back home. Hendry said some people have forgotten how serious he can be.

Analysis: Great segment. I like these every now and then. I still think Santana walks out champion at Slammiversary and I am all for it.

Trick Williams walked out to join the commentary for the main event.

Match #6: First Class & The Nemeths vs The Rascalz & The Hardys

I believe Trey Miguel said he would be right to go for Slammiversary and then he needs surgery on a hernia so they aren’t winning the ladder match. Myron Reed and Nic Nemeth started the match off. Nic used a Fisherman inside cradle for a 2 count. That was unique. Reed used a leg sweep to get a 1 count. He nailed a dropkick and tagged in Zac Wentz. They used some double team kicks on Nic. Nic was frustrated and tagged in Ryan. Ryan ran into a double team neckbreaker and Wentz got a 2 count. Ryan tagged in AJ Francis. Wentz tagged in Jeff Hardy. Jeff had USA face paint that looked cool. Jeff fought out of a Down Payment effort and hit a dropkick. He teed off on AJ with right hands. Jeff nailed 2 Twist of Fates and tagged in Matt. They used Poetry in Motion in the corner. Matt tagged in Wentz and they did another PIM. Francis did a Flair flop which was amusing. Wentz hit a standing moonsault for 2. The heels had been dominated so far. Wentz tried a sunset flip pin. He hit a dropkick and jumped on Francis but AJ muscled him back into his corner and tagged in Nic. Nic hit a corner splash and we went to a commercial.

(Commercial break)

Ryan was in control of Wentz as we returned to the action. Wentz kicked out of a pinfall attempt at 1. KC Navarro tagged in and tried a quick pin. He tagged out to Nic. Nic ran his mouth at Matt Hardy. Nic took a shot at Wentz’s knee. He tried to lock in a sleeper but Wentz hit a jawbreaker. AJ Francis tagged in and stopped Wentz from getting to his corner. He nailed a big headbutt then choked Wentz out against the middle rope. Nic hit him with a cheap right hand behind the referee’s back. Wentz tried to fight back with right hands but AJ hit another headbutt. AJ whipped him into the corner. Wentz knocked his other 3 opponents off the apron but AJ rammed him back into the corner and then took him down to the mat for a 2 count. Nic tagged in and stomped Wentz’s head into the mat. He took Reed off the apron with a cheap shot. Nic raked the eyes of Wentz. He hit a jumping elbow for 2. Nic grounded Wentz to the mat with a sleeper. Wentz got to his feet but Nic pulled him back down by the hair. Wentz got up and a burst of energy enabled him to hit a spinning knee strike. Ryan and Matt tagged in. Matt hit some clotheslines. He did his Delete head smashes against the turnbuckle pads. Nic ran in and ate a Side Effect. Matt hit one on Ryan for a 2 count. Matt called for the Twist of Fate. He was about to hit it but Nic hit Jeff with a superkick on the outside to distract Matt. Matt sent Ryan off the ropes and hit a Twist of Fate but AJ made a blind tag so the cover didn’t count. Francis sent Matt into the corner but he missed a clothesline. Matt hit a Side Effect on AJ. He smashed his head off the turnbuckles. Matt hit a DDT but The Nemeths broke the pinfall up. Williams got up from the commentary booth. He got in Matt’s face. Francis tried a Down Payment but Matt fought out of it. AJ sent Matt into the ropes and Williams hit him across the back with the TNA World Title. The referee was only 2 metres away. Francis speared Matt to win the match after 12 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: The Nemeths & First Class

Analysis: ***1/4 That was a solid main event where the first half was almost an opposite of what a tag match usually is, because the heels were suffering for the most part. Williams helping First Class makes sense, as they’ve saved him in the past.

Williams and First Class beat down The Hardys post-match. Santana’s music hit and he came through the crowd. He took KC out at ringside. Williams and AJ were too much for Santana. Hendry’s music hit and he ran down for the save. Hendry took down Williams with some right hands and sent him out of the ring. AJ pushed Santana into Hendry, so Hendry turned around and hit him in the face, thinking it was AJ. Santana and Hendry got into a pushing match until The Hardys and The Rascalz pulled them apart. Impact went off the air with tension evident between Santana and Hendry.

Analysis: That was a good way to end the show. Just because there are two babyface wrestlers in the title match doesn’t mean they have to get along.

Final Rating: 7/10

That felt like one of the better Impacts of the year, which I also wrote last week so that’s a good sign. There were 3 pretty good matches tonight and my favourite was the International Championship match. They crammed a lot into 7 minutes. The women’s tag was also well done and they were given over 10 minutes which was pleasing. They have two interesting women’s feuds going into Slammiversary, plus the tag team feud which has been brief but effective. Three women’s matches on the PLE is good, but it’s 3 quality matches that makes it even better. Slammiversary should be the best show of the year but so many times over the past 3 years I have been really pleased with a TNA PLE card and it just hasn’t lived up to the hype. I can’t see this show doing that.

The next TNA PLE is Slammiversary on Sunday, July 20th. Here’s the card so far:

* TNA World Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs Joe Hendry vs Mike Santana
* TNA Knockouts Championship & WWE NXT Women’s Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs Jacy Jayne (c) or Jordynne Grace
* TNA X-Division Championship: Moose (c) vs Leon Slater
* TNA World Tag Team Championships: Ladder Match: The Nemeths (c) vs The Hardys vs First Class vs The Rascalz
* TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships: The Elegance Brand (c) vs The Iinspiration
* Indi Hartwell vs Tessa Blanchard
* Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali
