The John Report: WWE SmackDown 07/04/25 Review

WWE Smackdown July 4 Review

This is WWE SmackDown featuring words from Cody Rhodes, Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill and a night full of tag team matches.

I am writing this review a few days after SmackDown, as I was on vacation for the first seven days of July. I’m back and refreshed after taking a week off from watching wrestling. More importantly, I didn’t write anything about wrestling, either. I needed a break. I know the coming week is going to be busy with four extra PLE/PPV/TV shows to review on the July 12-13 weekend, so bring it on.

For the first six months of the year, SmackDown was a three-hour show, and now it’s back to the two-hour format, which I don’t mind at all. I didn’t mind the three hours, but sometimes the show dragged on when it was that long. This episode was taped after last Monday’s Raw in Pittsburgh so that the WWE roster could get some time off for the July 4th US Independence Day holiday. There isn’t action during the commercials, so the Netflix version I’m watching is about 1 hour and 20 minutes without commercials.

From the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this is SmackDown for episode #1350. Follow me on Twitter/X @johnreport. Let’s get to it.

Solo Sikoa was shown arriving with the US Title in his hands. Jacob Fatu showed up to beat up JC Mateo and Tonga Loa. Fatu also headbutted Solo, who was still in the car. Security showed up to stop Fatu, along with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and WWE Officials.

Analysis: It’s a good way to start with some action, setting the stage for what’s to come later.

The commentary team was Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett as usual. Mark Nash was the ring announcer.

Let’s Hear from King of the Ring Winner Cody Rhodes

The King of the Ring Winner, Cody Rhodes, made his entrance in dress clothes without a suit jacket.Cody beat Randy Orton to win King of the Ring at the Night of Champions PLE last Saturday night. The graphic was shown for SummerSlam as John Cena defends the Undisputed WWE Title against Cody Rhodes in a WrestleMania 41 rematch.

Cody held the King of the Ring crown in his hands rather than put it on his head. Cody asked for the fans to cheer for Cam, who is a child in the children’s hospital and he’s at SmackDown. Cody was wearing a bracelet on his wrist to support him. The fans cheered. Cody talked about fighting Jey Uso and Randy Orton just to hold this. Cody said that this stands for where they’ve been and where they are going. Cody mentioned past kings like Booker T, Bret Hart, Steve Austin and Triple H. Cody said that it stands for where he’s going – SummerSlam to challenge John Cena for the WWE Title. Here comes Randy Orton for the interruption.

Randy Orton made his way down to the ring wearing casual gym clothes. The fans sang the “Voices” song but not as long as international fans. Orton joined his pal Cody in the ring.

Orton said that he told Cody that he would do whatever it takes to win King of the Ring. Orton said that at Night of Champions, he had Cody laying there and he was about to rearrange his skull, but Orton hesitated. Orton said that Cody didn’t hesitate because he pulled the trigger, and he said that he respected Cody for it. Orton said he won’t soon forget it, but he respects Cody. Orton told Cody that he would not squander this opportunity and told Cody to go to SummerSlam and kick John Cena’s ass.

Drew McIntyre was the next man to interrupt. The Scottish Warrior has been away for about a month and a half, so it’s good to see him back. Drew was wearing a brand new “Bored At Work” shirt. Great shirt referencing Drew’s WrestleMania selfies the last two years.

Drew trashed them, saying they sounded pathetic. Drew wondered when this “beta male” energy took over WWE and said thank God the “Alpha” has returned, referencing himself. Drew said that Orton lost because he didn’t do the Punt when he could have. Drew told Orton that Cody has been buttering up Orton for months now, and it softened up Orton for their match. Drew mentioned Orton tweaking his surgically repaired back at Night of Champions and Cody attacked it like a shark that smelled blood in the water. Drew said when Orton had the chance had the chance to put him, he couldn’t do it. Drew went over all of Orton’s past nicknames. Drew said that a few years ago, Orton punted Hall of Famers and Drew had to save them from the monster that Orton was. Drew said that the legend of Randy Orton is dead.

Drew told “Super Cody” that he wanted Cody to win at SummerSlam because Cody against Drew was the match that they wanted. Drew said that this match is 20 years in the making, and Drew said he wanted to be the one to take the title out of Cody’s hands. Drew said he won’t hesitate, unlike somebody, and Drew turned to Orton…who dropped Drew with an RKO! Orton stared at Cody and left.

Analysis: Welcome back, Drew McIntyre, who is one of my favorite performers in WWE. Drew said a lot of truth with his words and that’s why his promos are among the best in WWE. Drew was right to say that Orton didn’t pull the trigger, while Cody also attacked Orton’s back throughout the match. Orton reacted the right way by giving Drew an RKO to shut him up. The saying goes “the truth hurts” and that’s true for The Viper as well. Anyway, it was an effective opening segment to set up a match while also showing that Orton was supporting Cody against Cena.

A video aired about Charlotte Flair talking to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis earlier in the day. Aldis said he had a different title opportunity for Flair. Aldis said Flair’s team would be against the Secret Hervice, B-Fab & Michin and whoever wins gets a title shot at Evolution. Alexa Bliss walked in. Bliss said they don’t have to be friends, but they can be tag team partners. Flair said she didn’t like to share the spotlight. Bliss said you haven’t been in the spotlight for a long time. Aldis said to let Flair do his job. Flair said fine and told Bliss to not get in her way.

Analysis: The unlikely veteran tag team of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are now on a quest for gold. It’s that simple, I guess.

Secret Hervice made their entrance with Chelsea Green, who looked very patriotic.

Drew McIntyre walked up to Nick Aldis in the backstage area, saying he wanted a match. Alids said Orton left the building so Drew could face him at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Drew was fine with that. Jacob Fatu walked up to Drew and had a staredown. Drew left. Aldis told Fatu that if he finds himself a partner, he can face Solo and JC Mateo later tonight. Jimmy Uso walked up to cousin Fatu and volunteered to be his partner. Jacob was good with that.

Analysis: A Drew McIntyre/Randy Orton match sounds good to me. It makes Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta a stronger lineup as well.

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Michin & B-Fab vs. Secret Hervice – Piper Niven & Alba Fyre (w/Chelsea Green)

The winners will get a Women’s Tag Team Title match at Evolution in a fatal four-way match.

Flair tagged herself in to start for her team against Niven and Michin. Flair hit Niven with a forearm and Flair kicked B-Fab off the apron. Flair chopped Niven a few times and Michin hit Flair with strikes. Michin kicked Niven and hit a back kick to knock Flair down. Niven punched Flair off the apron to the floor. Michin did a suicide dive on Bliss and Flair on the floor, but Michin’s leap appeared to be short. Ouch. Niven jumped off the apron onto Michin and B-Fab. Fyre dove off the top onto the other women on the floor. I don’t think Fyre touched a few of them, but they all bumped for it. There was a break at that point.

Niven was in control until she missed a senton splash. B-Fab hit Flair with some strikes and a superkick on Niven. B-Fab hit a jumping kick to Flair. B-Fab hit a spin kick on Niven and a pump kick on Flair. Flair did a chop block to B-Fab, who kicked Flair into the turnbuckle and Bliss tagged in. Bliss hit shoulder tackles and a leg whip. Bliss hit a knee on Fyre, a dropkick on B-Fab and Bliss hit a neckbreaker on Fyre. Bliss set up for Sister Abigail, but Michin hit a superkick to stop that. Fyre hit a Canadian Destroyer on Michin and B-Fab hit a uranage slam on Fyre. Niven hit a Black Hole Slam on B-Fab. Bliss stopped a double team move by pulling Fyre off the top rope. Flair was in illegally with a Spear on Niven. Flair went up top and hit a moonsault onto Niven and Fyre. Flair tapped Bliss on the head. The referee considered that a tag. Flair kicked Green off the apron. Bliss went up top and hit Twisted Bliss on both opponents, and pinned Fyre to win. It lasted about six minutes.

Winners by pinfall: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss

Analysis: **1/2 It was a solid tag team match with Flair and Bliss not working together smoothly during the match, but eventually they got on the same page and found a way to win the match. I don’t think the result surprised anybody watching since Michin & B-Fab rarely win matches while the same goes for Secret Hervice. Flair and Bliss are now on the Evolution card.

After the match, Flair hugged Bliss excitedly and then let her go. They smiled about the win.

Analysis: This is one of those classic wrestling stories where two partners become a great team, even though it appears they can’t get along at first. Eventually, they do get on the same page and find success. An example of that is Sheamus & Cesaro, aka The Bar. That’s how they were formed and how they became a team.

There was an “earlier today” backstage scene with GM Nick Aldis talking to members of the tag team division. Aldis talked about the Wyatt Sicks getting involved. After some chatter, Aldis booked Fraxiom against Andrade & Rey Fenix. Aldis said that one member of each team will team up against the Wyatts in an 8-man tag team match while the others can stay backstage. Aldis said that the Wyatts are here to stay, and if they win tonight, then they’re in contention for the tag team titles. Gargano and Ciampa tried to encourage the other teams, but they bickered about it.

The Wyatt Sicks entered for tag team action. They went to a break after that.

Montez Ford, Johnny Gargano, Chris Sabin & Berto vs. Wyatt Sicks – Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy (w/Nikki Cross)

Gacy hit a clothesline on Berto, along with a senton splash. Berto jumped off the ropes with an elbow on Gacy. Lumis tagged in, Berto kicked him and Lumis tossed Berto across the ring. Gargano tagged in to try to talk to his former friend Lumis, who decked Gargano with a punch. Lumis hit a spinning slam for two because Sabin made the save. The eight guys went into the ring and got into a brawl. The foursome of Ford, Gargano, Sabin and Berto all superkicked Rowan out of the ring. Ford kicked Rowan and Ford hit a running kick to Rowan’s chest. Rowan caught a leaping Ford and Lumis hit a superkick on Ford on the floor.

The match returned from a break, with Gacy working over Ford with a clothesline and a punch. Lumis was back in as Gacy delivered a Powerbomb to Lumis onto Ford for a two count. Ford broke free, tagged in Sabin and he hit a missile dropkick. Sabin hit Gacy with multiple clotheslines and a headscissors. Sabin hit a back body drop and a dropkick. Sabin and Gargano hit a running combo kick. Gacy knocked Gargano off the apron. Sabin hooked the arms of Gacy for a two count because Lumis made the save. Ford sent Gacy over the top to the floor. Ford hit a somersault dive over the top onto Lumis and Gacy on the floor. Howdy sent Berto out of the ring. Howdy caught Sabin with a uranage slam. Rowan tagged in with a spin kick for Ford and knocked Berto off the apron, and into the barricade. Sabin kicked Rowan and Sabin hit a jumping DDT off the turnbuckle. Gargano wanted to tag, then he was scared of Rowan and he backed away when Sabin wanted to tag out. Rowan splashed Sabin against the turnbuckle and Rowan hit a cross body block on Sabin. Rowan hit an Iron Claw Slam on Sabin for the pinfall win after about 8 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: Wyatt Sicks – Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy

Analysis: **3/4 A big win for the Wyatt Sicks because of Gargano costing his team the match. It makes sense as a finish because the four tag team wrestlers aren’t going to get along, so having a heel like Gargano bail on the team at least fits the storyline. The Wyatt Sicks guys worked well together and Rowan was treated like a monster who dominated when he was in there. It gives the Wyatt Sicks a meaningful win as a team.

A video aired featuring Giulia talking about being the Women’s US Champion. Giulia warned the other women that they were about to feel the heat of beautiful madness.

The WWE Women’s Champion, Tiffany Stratton, made her entrance midway through the show for some promo time.

(Commercial)

It’s official for Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th in Atlanta: Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre.

Let’s Hear from Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton was wearing shoes that had about six inches of added height, so she looked taller than usual. Tiffany said since becoming champion, she’s had a target on her back and Nia Jax’s revenge wasn’t going to stop her from being the Last Woman Standing. Stratton talked about how at SummerSlam, she’ll defend her title against the Queen of the Ring, Jade Cargill. Stratton said that she gets to choose her opponent at Evolution, just like Iyo Sky did on Raw. There was an interruption from Jade Cargill.

The Queen of the Ring, Jade Cargill, walked out carrying the crown in her hand. The fans like her, just like Stratton.

Analysis: I mentioned in the Night of Champions review that I think Jade Cargill is going to beat Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Title at SummerSlam. I also think Naomi will cash in Money in the Bank on Jade right after the win so that Naomi will leave as the WWE Women’s Champion. Just a prediction on my part.

Jade Cargill was in the ring saying she respected Stratton. Jade said that Stratton was barely standing when Jade was beating Asuka to become the Queen of the Ring. Jade said it didn’t matter who Stratton picked because Jade was going to beat whoever the champion was at SummerSlam. Stratton said she was glad Jade was here because she had a surprise for everybody.

Oh it’s time to rock n roll because my favorite, the WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus, made her entrance to a huge pop from the crowd. Wade was very excited to see Stratus, who still looks amazing at 49 years old, as she celebrates 25 years since she joined WWE. Trish looked great decked out in pink, along with a sparkly hat.

Stratton told Trish that they teamed up at Elimination Chamber, and she thought that Evolution needed some Stratusfaction. Stratton offered Trish the opportunity to challenge Stratton for the Women’s Title at SummerSlam. Cargill said it didn’t matter if it was Stratton or a legend (like Trish) at SummerSlam.

Trish responded by saying that she didn’t expect that and thanked Stratton. Trish said that they had to fight for one singles women’s match on the card. Trish said at Evolution, we’ll have an entire card of incredibly talented women. Trish told Stratton she gave her a special moment by letting Trish wrestle in front of her kids. Trish said that her kids have never seen her be a champion in the ring. Trish said 8-time Champion has a pretty nice ring to it. Stratton said that this isn’t going to be easy, and it’s not the Attitude Era anymore. Trish said she wants that fight because she has been known to evolve. Tiffany said that whether it’s Trish at Evolution or Jade at SummerSlam, you’ll realize that the WWE Universe runs on Tiffy Time. Stratton’s music played to end it.

Analysis: I am fine with how they set that up. I’m never going to complain about seeing my favorite Trish Stratus out there, and she has shown in recent years she is still very capable in the ring. If it were me, I would have planned it better by bringing Trish back a couple of weeks earlier, maybe doing an angle with Stratton where Trish had her back, maybe they win a tag team match on TV, and then after the match, Trish challenges Stratton to a title match. Doing it this way, just 9 days before Evolution takes place, is a bit lazy in terms of booking. One of my biggest gripes in this Triple H Era of WWE is that they don’t build up title matches well all the time. I get that there are too many titles, so it’s tough, but there are too many “you get a title shot” matches without somebody earning it. Anyway, I think Stratton will beat Stratus at SummerSlam, and if she doesn’t, I would be very surprised. Also, since Stratton mentioned the Attitude Era, she was born in May of 1999, so she was literally born in the Attitude Era and probably had no idea who Trish was until she signed with WWE a few years ago. Trish debuted in WWE about a year after Stratton was born. Yes, my age starts with a 4, so I’m officially old too. It’s okay, my friends. We’re young at heart.

The US Champion Solo Sikoa delivered a message while seated at a table with JC Mateo and Tonga Loa behind him. Solo welcomed the newest member of the family, Tala Tonga (former Hikuleo). Solo said that this is nothing like a Bloodline. Solo said that this group is more dangerous. Solo said that he and JC would take care of Jacob tonight. Solo said that these are his MFTs aka My Family Tree. Solo said his family is complete.

Analysis: I suppose ‘My Family Tree’ is the group name. I don’t know if they’ll go with that as the name when mentioning the group or if they’ll just say MFT for the group name. I’m not sure if Tama Tonga fits in whenever he comes back, or if there’s another plan for him.

Trish Stratus was shown walking backstage when she walked up to Jade Cargill, who said she loved Trish having a title match at Evolution. Jade said if she wins, then she’ll be seeing Jade. Trish said she’ll be seeing her at SummerSlam. After Trish left, Naomi hit Jade in the back with the newly customized Money in the Bank briefcase that hit Jade in the back. They went crashing into some equipment cases. Naomi told her to proceed with caution while laughing maniacally. After Naomi left, SD GM Nick Aldis showed up and Jade said she wanted to end this, so she wanted to face Naomi. Nick agreed to it and said they’d talk about it.

Analysis: The Naomi-Jade feud will lead to another match, which isn’t that surprising.

Fraxiom – Nathan Frazer & Axiom vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix

Andrade and Fenix have had wins over #DIY and Los Garza in recent weeks, so they are teaming again. Frazer and Axiom hit some quick moves on Andrade. Fenix got the tag with a clothesline off the top, a kick to Axiom and then Axiom hit a DDT on Fenix, who landed on his feet. Frazer and Axiom sent their opponents out of the ring. That led to two suicide dives from Frazer and Axiom each. It led to a break.

The match returned with Frazer grounding Fenix with a front headlock. Axiom got the tag, Frazer lifted Fenix and Axiom kicked Fenix in the back while Frazer hit a suplex. Fenix kicked Frazer off the apron and Fenix hit a jumping DDT on Axiom. Andrade tagged in with a dragon screw on Frazer and a running forearm on Axiom. Andrade kicked Frazer in the gut, followed by Andrade hitting the Three Amigos vertical suplexes. Fenix tagged in and jumped off the top with a Frog Splash on Frazer for a two count. Fenix went up top, but Frazer stopped him with a jumping kick to the head. Frazer also kicked Andrade on the apron. Frazer hit a superplex on Fenix and a suplex/superkick combo on Fenix. Andrade tackled the pile to break up the pin attempt.

They were back from another break as Fenix hit a missile dropkick on Axiom. Frazer avoided a splash from Fenix off the top rope. Andrade tagged in, Fenix jumped over Frazer barely and Fenix hit a German Suplex. Andrade got the tag, leading to a running double knee to Frazer’s face for a two count. Andrade jumped off the top for the double jump moonsault on Frazer for a two count because Axiom broke up the pin. Axiom superkicked Fenix off the apron to the floor. Frazer kicked Andrade, who came back with a chop and Frazer kicked Andrade. Axiom went up top and hit a Spanish Fly slam off the top. Frazer jumped off the top with a Phoenix Splash for a two count because Fenix broke it up while hitting a Codebreaker on Fraxiom at the same time. This crowd wasn’t very loud, but there were “This is Awesome” chants that may have been piped in. After everybody was down selling, they got back up and Andrade hit a spinning back elbow on Frazer. Fenix hit a running kick on Fraxiom. Fenix hit a somersault dive over the top onto Frazer on the floor. Andrade hit The Message on Frazer for the pinfall win. It went about 10 minutes, so about 16 minutes with the commercials.

Winners by pinfall: Andrade & Rey Fenix

Analysis: ***1/2 I thought it was a great match that was full of action. If it were a better crowd, then they would have been into the match more, but maybe this crowd was tired after 3+ hours of action since they had Raw before it. Fraxiom has been booked well since going to SmackDown, so it’s a big thing for Andrade and Fenix to beat a third team on the blue brand. The division that already was five or six teams deep will be even deeper now with Andrade & Fenix as a legit team that can win big matches. The weird thing is Raw is lacking in teams big time, yet SmackDown has so many, and it’s hard to feature all of them. Perhaps there will be a WWE Draft soon so some of those teams can boost Raw.

Damian Priest spoke to Aleister Black backstage. Priest said he found out that Black has a match against R-Truth next week on SmackDown. Black said that Priest was setting his friend up, but Priest is the good guy, and violence begets violence. Priest wondered who told Black that he was the good guy and who told you that Truth would be the victim of violence. Black laughed it off and left.

Analysis: I’m not sure where it’s going, but I’m glad that Aleister Black is involved in a storyline.

Next week on SmackDown in Nashville:

* WWE Tag Team Championships: The Street Profits vs. Wyatt Sicks

* R-Truth vs. Aleister Black

They confirmed two more matches for the Evolution card on July 13th:

* WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Trish Stratus

* No Holds Barred Match: Jade Cargill vs. Naomi

A replay of Night of Champions was shown, featuring a returning Tonga Loa and a debuting Tala Tonga, as they helped Solo Sikoa win the US Title from Jacob Fatu. I predicted that title change due to Solo’s friends helping him.

Solo Sikoa & JC Mateo vs. Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso

Jimmy and Solo are brothers. They are also first cousins with Jacob. JC isn’t related, but he is part of Solo’s stable. Fatu went after JC to start the match because Solo tagged out from starting the match. Jimmy tagged in, so JC hit him with a running body attack to knock Jimmy down. Solo punched Jimmy and mocked Jacob with a Fatu shake. Jimmy hit a boot to Solo’s face and Solo hit a uranage on Jimmy as they went to a break.

The match returned with Solo in control of Jimmy with a running hip attack to Jimmy’s head against the turnbuckle. JC tagged in, Jimmy hit a jawbreaker and JC hit a clothesline. JC hit a standing moonsault onto Jimmy. JC hit a running uppercut while Jimmy was against the turnbuckle. Jimmy avoided JC and hit a Samoan Drop. Fatu got the hot tag against cousin Solo. Fatu hit a clothesline and a senton splash. Fatu hit a running splash along with ten headbutts (into his hand that was on Solo’s head) and Fatu hit a running cross body block. Fatu knocked JC off the apron and hit an impressive handstand moonsault for two. Fatu superkicked both opponents. Fatu hit running hip attacks on both opponents. Fatu went up top and hit a Swanton Bomb on Solo for a two count because JC broke up the pin. Jimmy superkicked JC out of the ring. Jimmy hit a dive over the top onto JC on the floor. Fatu hit a suicide dive on Solo on the floor. Fatu charged, Solo avoided it and Fatu hit the turnbuckle. Fatu avoided the Samoan Spike and hit an Impaler DDT. Fatu went up top and hit a Mighty Moonsault (that’s what Joe called it) for the pinfall win after about 6 minutes, which would have been 9 minutes with the commercial.

Winners by pinfall: Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso

Analysis: *** It was a solid tag team match to give Jacob Fatu a win back after losing the US Title at Night of Champions. I’m not surprised by the result, although I thought that Fatu would beat JC instead of Solo. This was a typical tag team match where Jimmy was the face in peril, Fatu got the hot tag and dominated from there, leading to the win.

After the match, Fatu kicked Solo out of the ring and Fatu cleared off the commentary table. Fatu superkicked Solo onto the table. Fatu went up top, but that’s when Tala Tonga showed up to slam Fatu into the ring. Jimmy attacked Tala with punches, but Tonga Loa went in to help Tala and Loa sent Jimmy until Tala, who hit a big boot to knock Jimmy down. JC hit a Tour of the Islands slam on Jimmy. Loa hit a neckbreaker on Jimmy from the apron, onto the floor. Solo hit Jacob with a Samoan Spike to the throat. The heel group brought Fatu out of the ring, they lifted up Fatu and Tala Tonga led the Triple Powerbomb through the table, and that broke the table. Solo stood on the barricade with the US Title while his guys stood in front of him. Fatu was down on the table at ringside. That was the end of the show.

Analysis: It’s an ending that we have seen many times on SmackDown with Solo Sikoa and a group of wrestlers beating somebody up to end the show. Solo’s team lost the match, but they got the momentum right back by beating up Fatu and putting him through the table with a Powerbomb. We’ll see if Fatu can get more allies in addition to cousin Jimmy. I’m not sure if Fatu will get the US Title from Solo at SummerSlam, but I can see a rematch taking place at that show.

Final Thoughts on WWE SmackDown

The show was okay this week. I’d call it below average a bit, and that’s partly because it was taped and was lacking excitement. Other than the Drew McIntyre return, I wasn’t that excited about this episode. Yes, it’s always good to see Trish Stratus, but as I wrote in the review, they could have built that up better.

I don’t know why they decided to put four tag team matches on the same show. It was too much tag team wrestling for one night, in my opinion. The Pittsburgh crowd sucked. If they do a double taping, avoid Pittsburgh. It’s notoriously not a great crowd, so pick another city when it’s time for a double taping.

After Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution, they will need to start pushing SummerSlam matches heavily since it’s a two-night event that needs to feel bigger than every show other than WrestleMania. Right now, SummerSlam doesn’t feel that big at all, so the creative team needs to come up with interesting stories to get us ready for the first two-night SummerSlam in WWE history.

The next WWE PLE is the women’s only Evolution on Sunday, July 13th. Here’s the lineup.

* WWE Women’s World Championship: Iyo Sky (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

* WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Trish Stratus

* No Holds Barred Match: Jade Cargill vs. Naomi

* WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair vs. two more teams

* NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Jordynne Grace

* Battle Royal for a Women’s World Championship match at Clash in Paris

You can watch WWE Evolution on Sunday, July 13, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else.
