The John Report: WWE Raw Deal 10/13/25 LIVE Review

WWE Raw Deal October 13

It’s WWE Raw featuring Dominik Mysterio facing Penta, Bayley teaming with Lyra Valkyria against Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez, a CM Punk-Jey Uso-LA Knight triple threat match and more.

This week’s Raw marks the end of a three-show televised run in Australia, which began with SmackDown in Perth on Friday, continued with Crown Jewel this past Saturday, and now concludes with Raw, airing at 8 a.m. ET. It’s another morning review for me, and this one is on my Canadian Thanksgiving. I’m thankful to be here doing this for you.

This is the Raw Deal for episode #1690 of Monday Night Raw. It’s taking place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. Follow me on Twitter/X @johnreport. Let’s get to it.

The show started with a video package about Crown Jewel.

There were superstar entrances shown after that.

Let’s Hear from Seth Rollins and The Vision

Seth Rollins made his entrance as the World Heavyweight Champion, joined by his group, The Vision, which includes WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. The fans sang along with Seth’s song. Seth had the Crown Jewel Championship and the Crown Jewel ring with him. The fans chanted “Seth’s a wanker” at Rollins.

Rollins welcomed us to “Monday Night Rollins.” Seth called the fans wankers, so the fans cheered that. Rollins went over all of his nicknames as usual. Rollins said that this is his vision.

Rollins spoke about the greatness he has assembled. Rollins said that Heyman came to him in a moment of need, and with his vision, they have solidified Heyman as the undisputed GOAT. Rollins said he is a blessed man for being in Heyman’s presence. Heyman kissed Rollins on the cheek. Rollins kissed Heyman on his bald head, and the fans cheered. Rollins said that is love.

Rollins said that six months ago, there were whispers about Bron Breakker’s potential. Rollins said that Breakker has flourished, and he is the undisputed future of this industry.

Bronson Reed was next, and the fans cheered a bit for their fellow Australian. Rollins said Reed was on the shelf six months ago. There was some “Bronson, Bronson Reed” singing from the fans. Rollins said you could not have beaten Roman Reigns six months ago, but Seth gave him knowledge about Reigns, and Reed embarrassed Roman Reigns, so Reed is the new Tribal Chief. Reed put his hand in the air like the Tribal Chief and Heyman did it too.

Seth Rollins asked the fans who is the greatest World Heavyweight Champion of all time and why is it him? Rollins said that Roman Reigns likes to say there are levels to this game. Rollins said that at this very moment, there is nobody on his level. Rollins claimed that he hasn’t needed anyone to achieve his success. The fans chanted, “Bulls**t” at Rollins for that. Rollins said that Reigns needed The Shield and The Bloodline. Rollins added that Rhodes needed Rollins to beat Reigns. Rollins said he never needed anybody, even The Vision, and claimed that he beat Punk & Reigns at WrestleMania and won the World Heavyweight Title on his own. Rollins claimed he beat Cody with one good arm on his own. Rollins said he didn’t need the men in this ring, he chose them and they chose him. Rollins said he was the greatest to ever do it and he was Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Seth held up the World Heavyweight Title in the air and pyro went off by the entrance. I don’t know if it means anything, but Bron Breakker didn’t seem that enthusiastic about it and he was looking at the World Title. Rollins held up the World Title to end it.

Analysis: It was the usual Seth Rollins promo, bragging about how great he is. Sometimes those promos are interrupted by babyfaces, but not this week. Rollins made good points about winning without help, as he did beat Cody Rhodes without anybody’s assistance, although he did use a watch to punch Cody to win the match. Bron Breakker didn’t look super thrilled about the ending of Seth’s promo and he was staring at the World Heavyweight Title, so that could be a future tease.

The commentary team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett was at ringside, welcoming us to the show. They also called SmackDown and Crown Jewel.

Penta was shown walking backstage, where he saw Rusev. Rusev said he already beat Penta, and Dominik cheated Rusev out of the title. Rusev said he’ll let the match happen because he was promised a shot at the winner. Rusev told Penta he hasn’t forgotten about the kick last week. Rusev told him to pray, and Penta said “Pendejo,” which I believe means stupid. After Penta left, Dominik Mysterio was in the background, and then Dom saw Rusev, so he went the other way.

Penta made his entrance, and the fans loved him. They went to a break for some fans as Penta continued his entrance.

The Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio made his entrance for the first match of the night.

Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio vs. Penta

Dominik Mysterio has a new, big neck tattoo that adds to his many other tattoos. Ring announcer Alicia Taylor did the in-ring championship introductions.

Penta was aggressive early on as the match spilled to the floor. Dominik charged at him and Penta gave Dom a back body drop onto the commentary table. There was a break for some fans as the action continued. Penta and Dom exchanged chops in the ring. Penta did a snapmare followed by a kick to the back. The fans chanted, “Dirty, Dirty Dom” as Penta worked over Dom with punches.

The match continued as Dom tried to get some offense going, but Penta kicked him against the turnbuckle. Penta jumped over the ropes with a headscissors. Penta hit a springboard cross body block for a two count. Penta hit a step up, jumping kick to the face, followed by the handstand dropkick for two. Dom sent Penta into the ropes with a stun gun, and Dom sent Penta into the ring post. Dom hit a suicide dive DDT on Penta on the floor. That was great. The fans were singing, “Dirty, Dirty Dom” again. Dom sent Penta into the barricade. Dom tossed Penta over the barricade and Penta got back in the ring before the ten count. Dom hit a running dropkick against the turnbuckle for two. The match went on a break for some fans as Dominik grabbed a headlock. Dominik tied Penta’s mask to the bottom rope and Dominik stomped on Penta a bit. The referee helped Penta break free from that. Penta charged and Dom hit a superkick for two. Dom hit a slingshot senton splash.

Dom went for a senton splash again, but Penta avoided it and Penta hit a Slingblade. Penta hit a backbreaker. Penta went to the ring post and hit a cross body block on Dom. Back in the ring, Penta jumped off the top, but Dom stopped that with a kick. Penta hit two suplexes and Dom blocked a third so that he could hit his own suplex for two. Dom hit a step up enziguri to send Penta into the ropes, but Penta avoided a 619 kick. Penta kicked Dom in the head. Penta hit a cross body block over the top on Dominik. Penta hit a Penta Driver for a two count. Penta charged with a Destroyer attempt, but Dom countered it with a Michinoku Driver for two. Dom jumped off the top, so Penta superkicked Dom in the ribs. Rusev went down to ringside, so Penta hit a somersault dive onto Rusev on the floor. Dom tossed the AAA Mega Title down and had the IC Title in the ring. Dom also had a hammer that he used to hit Penta in the ribs. The referee never saw it. Dom hid the hammer in his boot. Dom hit the 619 kick and a Frog Splash off the top for the pinfall win after 18 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Dominik Mysterio

Analysis: ***3/4 It was a great match with another creative finish in a Dominik Mysterio match. They continue to come up with ways for Dom to retain his title cheaply, and I like it a lot. Dom has become an outstanding performer who is one of the best heels in WWE, yet he also gets cheered because of how good he is at being a bad guy. Penta is fun to watch, and I enjoyed it.

LA Knight was interviewed by Jackie Redmond. Knight said that his match with CM Punk and Jey Uso isn’t just for the number one contendership, it might as well be for the World Heavyweight Title. Punk walked in, saying Knight isn’t going to beat him. Knight said that he’s going to be the next World Heavyweight Champion…yeah. Knight looked behind him and said that’s where Punk is going to be. Punk said nothing.

Asuka spoke to Kairi Sane backstage, saying that Sane lost. Sane said she was sorry about that. Sane said she can fix this by talking to Iyo Sky. Asuka told Sane she’s going to face Rhea Ripley and remind everybody that Asuka is in charge. Sane showed some nasty bruises on her forehead. Sane said that was because she tried to help her, so Asuka slapped Sane hard in the face.

Rhea Ripley made her entrance in her home country of Australia, and she was joined by Iyo Sky. Huge pop for Ripley, of course. Kairi Sane made her entrance, and she as joined by Asuka.

They showed UFC fighters Alexander Volkanovski and Jack Della Maddalena, and they are both from Australia. They are both current champions.

Rhea Ripley (w/Iyo Sky) vs. Kairi Sane (w/Asuka)

Sane hit Ripley with a slap to the face, but Ripley came back with a clothesline. Ripley caught a charging Sane and tried a suplex, Sane fought it, and Ripley hit the suplex. Sane kicked Ripley in the back of the neck, and Sane used her speed to hit a hurricanrana into the ropes. Sane hit Ripley with a forearm out of the ring. Ripley kicked Sane during a diving attempt on the floor. Ripley hit a running dropkick in the ring. Ripley hit a Northern Lights Suplex for two. Ripley went after Asuka on the floor, so Sky confronted Asuka. Sane kicked Ripley into the commentary table. Sky punched Asuka and Sane hit a forearm off the apron on Sky on the floor. They went on a break for some fans. Sane was in control with a running dropkick and a blockbuster. Sane choked Ripley against the ropes. The fans were chanting, “F**k her up, Rhea” so the chant as muted. Sane remained in control as she worked over Ripley with some light kicks and choking.

Sane went for a move off the ropes, but Ripley stopped that with a kick to the body. Ripley blocked Sane’s strike attempts and Ripley hit two clotheslines. Ripley hit a spinning slam, along with a running kick for two. Sane countered a Ripley move and got a sunset flip for two. Ripley headbutted Sane. Ripley went for Riptide, Sane got out of it and Sane sent Ripley to the apron. Ripley charged, Sane ducked and Ripley went shoulder-first into the ring post. Sane went up top and hit an Insane Elbow onto a standing Ripley on the floor. Asuka congratulated Sane for that. Sane was in control in the ring with a reversal that led to a Stunner. Sane jumped off the top, Ripley avoided it and Ripley hit a Razor’s Edge, followed by a sliding knee attack. Ripley teased a superplex, Sane fought out of it and Ripley bumped into the top rope. Ripley managed to get back to the turnbuckle, Sane punched her, Ripley held onto the ropes and Sane hit a top rope double foot stomp for two. Sane hit two back fists to Ripley, along with a running forearm. Sane jumped off the top, Ripley caught her and Ripley slammed Sane hard into the mat. Asuka went on the apron, so Sky pulled her down and kicked Asuka in the head. Sane got a rollup for two. Ripley with a headbutt and Ripley hit Riptide for the win after 16 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Rhea Ripley

Analysis: ***1/4 I think we all knew that Rhea Ripley was going to win, but it took longer than a lot of us probably thought. Sane got plenty of offense, and even came close to winning a few times, although, like I said, this was obviously going to be a victory for Ripley in her home country. Sky prevented Asuka from getting involved, and Ripley finished off Sky from there.

After the match, Asuka kicked Sky and shoved Sky into the ring post. Ripley kicked Asuka off the apron to the floor. Ripley cleared off the commentary table. Ripley wanted to do a move, but Sane saved Asuka by hitting Ripley with a kendo stick on the back. Asuka gave Ripley a DDT on the table. The table didn’t break, but Ripley sold it well. Asuka and Sane celebrated on the table.

Analysis: That likely means this feud is going to continue even though Ripley and Sky beat Asuka and Sane at Crown Jewel. They will likely have a gimmick match since kendo sticks were used.

Rhea Ripley was shown getting checked on while she was on the table. This was during a break for some fans. Asuka and Sane left ringside happily.

Rusev was interviewed by Cathy Kelley. Rusev warned Penta, saying he hides his face behind a mask and said that he’ll hide Penta’s body in the dirt. Rusev said he’s coming for Dominik Mysterio next week because he is coming for Rusev’s title. Rusev said that nobody is going to stop him.

There was a replay of The Kabuki Warriors beating up Rhea Ripley. Ripley was helped to the back.

The Usos were in the locker room as Jimmy prepared for his match against Bronson Reed. Jimmy wondered why they still got blamed for trying to help Roman Reigns. Jey said that all Roman does is look out for himself. Jey said maybe they should do the same. Jey talked about how he has his own triple threat match and he can’t make the same mistake. Jimmy talked about how he was going to handle Bronson Reed. Jey wanted to say something and Jimmy cut him off because he didn’t want to be given orders. Jimmy told Jey to handle his business and Jimmy will handle his business.

Bronson Reed vs. Jimmy Uso

Jimmy went after Reed, so Reed punched him in the ribs. Reed tackled Jimmy through a barricade at Crown Jewel, so Jimmy was selling a rib injury. They left the ring where Jimmy sent Reed into the ring post. Jimmy kicked Reed and hit some chops. Reed caught Jimmy and hit a World’s Strongest Slam. Reed took off Jimmy’s shirt to show that Jimmy’s ribs were taped up. Reed hit an elbow drop as the show went on a break for some fans and I’ll take a break too because Reed was in control for a few minutes.

Reed was in full control as he sent Jimmy into the turnbuckle a few times. Jimmy was selling a rib injury. Reed went for a running senton splash, but Jimmy avoided it and Reed hit the mat. Jimmy hit some kicks and punches, including a spinning kick to the head. Jimmy hit the running hip attack against the turnbuckle for two. Jimmy jumped off the top with a twisting cross body block for two. Jimmy tried a lift, but Reed fell on top. Reed hit two senton splashes. Reed went up top and hit a Tsunami splash for the pinfall win after about 8 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Bronson Reed

Analysis: *** A decisive win for the Aussie Reed in his home country. Jimmy was selling the rib injury throughout the match, which set up the finish with Reed hitting his devastating Tsunami for the win. Jimmy did a nice job of selling the injury.

Bron Breakker showed up to celebrate with Bronson Reed. Bron looked back and saw Jimmy in the ring, so Bron hit a Spear on Jimmy. Reed held Jimmy, which led to Bron hitting another running Spear. Reed tossed Jimmy out of the ring. Bron tried to hit a Spear, but Jey Uso’s music hit and Jey went to the ring to help his brother. Jey gave Bron a back body drop out of the ring. Reed tried to attack Jey, but Jey superkicked Reed out of the ring. Bron and Reed left together. Jimmy went into the ring and The Usos shook hands. Jey was frustrated about Jimmy getting involved, so Jey left.

Analysis: The Usos continue to have problems because Jey likes to boss Jimmy around, and all Jimmy is trying to do is help his brother.

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were backstage talking about their tag team match. Lyra said that sometimes they are a bit off as a team. Lyra told Bayley that this is just a one-time thing. Bayley laughed that off. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria made their entrance for tag team action.

The Judgment Day – Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria

The fans sang the “Hey Bayley, I wanna know if you’ll be my girl” song, which is based on an old song that the UK fans sing and the Aussies do it too. Lyra hit a dropkick on Perez. Bayley got the tag against Raquel, then Perez went into the ring and the babyface team hit splashes on the heels. Perez pulled Lyra out of the ring, so Raquel and Bayley got into a fight that spilled out to the floor. Lyra jumped onto Raquel on the floor, but Raquel used her power to hit a fallaway slam on Lyra onto Bayley on the floor. Back in the ring, Raquel kicked Bayley into a Russian leg sweep by Perez. They went on a break for some fans as the heels were in control of Bayley for a few minutes.
