The John Report: WWE Raw Deal 03/24/25 Review

WWE Raw Deal March 24

It’s WWE Raw featuring Bron Breakker’s IC Title defense against Penta, another John Cena-Cody Rhodes confrontation, and more.

The road to WrestleMania continues with another televised WWE event taking place in Europe. This week’s Raw is in Glasgow, Scotland, which should be another great crowd. Last week’s Raw featured the highly anticipated heel turn promo by John Cena, which I enjoyed a lot. Cody Rhodes confronted Cena at the end of it as the build continued for their WrestleMania 41 match.

This is the Raw Deal for episode #1661 of Monday Night Raw. It’s taking place at OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. Follow me on Twitter/X @johnreport, friend me on Facebook, or chat with me on the Bluesky App as well. Let’s get to it.

They showed some pre-show walking around of CM Punk while Finn Balor was talking to Dominik Mysterio in the background. There was also Raquel Rodriguez with Liv Morgan, Lyra Valkyria, Dragon Lee with Rey Mysterio, Penta and also the Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker.

Let’s Hear from John Cena

John Cena made his entrance wearing his usual colorful gear and a stone-faced expression. Cena held up “The Last Time Is Now” towel for the camera while the fans booed Cena on his way to the ring.

The commentary team was Michael Cole and Pat McAfee. Corey Graves filled in for Pat in Brussels last week. Alicia Taylor was the ring announcer.

John Cena entered the ring wearing a special shirt made for the Glasgow fans, who were booing him. Cena asked the fans if they had something on their mind and he said it seemed like they had something they wanted to say to him. Cena said that they were ready to do their worst because they finally understood that Cena had turned the spotlight on the fans. Cena said that the fans know he can rip them to shreds right now. Cena told the fans they know that no one is safe. Cena spoke about how last week he put a clueless kid on blast, his poor, pathetic face was everywhere and you all loved it. The fans chanted “F**k you Cena” and the swear word was getting muted. Cena asked who was worse between him as the guy who tells the truth or the fans, whose best idea is to use profanity. Cena said that the fans were the ones who loved to watch and rewatch a kid getting destroyed. Cena said he didn’t need to single out anybody here because you are all horrible people.

Cena said tonight you get to find out how he’ll make the fans pay for the abuse you have put him through. Cena said for 25 years he listened to their lies and their noise. Cena claimed he paid attention while there was a “Shut the f**k up” chant. Cena said they make this so easy. Cena said that he’s been learning from you and rewarding you for your childish nursery rhymes. Cena told the fans that he knows more about them than the fans do. Cena told the fans that their life is sad because this is the best it’s gonna get – this is all you have. Cena said to him you have been nothing more than an experiment and like rats in a cage. Cena went on to talk about how he made the fans act a certain way. Cena said you will always tell him how you feel.

Cena said that in April 2005, he gave you the WWE Spinner Championship. Cena said you can Google negative comments about the Spinner Belt. Cena claimed that people said he was stupid for disrespecting the championship tradition and disrespected the fans’ legacy. Cena said that now that he knows what bothers you, “I am going to ruin wrestling” for every fan, for every wrestler and everyone. Cena said that at WrestleMania he’ll make history for 17th World Championship and force you to forget the name of Ric Flair and you will forever say the name of John Cena. Cena said that even worse, he’s going to win that championship and retire with it. Cena said that he’s taking it home with him and leaving you to create a brand new toy belt. Cena said he’ll be the last real champion in WWE. Cena said that he’ll pay you back by ripping your heart out and forcing you to watch as he walks away with your memories and your dreams and there is nothing you can do to stop him. Here’s the interruption.

Analysis: It was another great heel promo from John Cena. I liked what he said about how he’s going to ruin wrestling by taking away the WWE Championship. Cena should have also bragged about how the Spinner WWE Title was a huge seller for WWE, so he should have praised himself for changing it and making a lot of money off it. Anyway, I think Cena is doing an excellent job as this heel character who likes to trash the fans. A lot of heels trash the fans when they turn, but in Cena’s case, I think it makes a lot of sense due to his long history as WWE’s top guy.

The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made his entrance in a suit and the WWE Championship in his hands. Cody greeted a lot of fans on his way to the ring. The fans did the “WHOA OH” chanting for Cody’s song as usual. They did a “Cody Rhodes” song and chant.

Cody Rhodes recapped what Cena said and said that before you can take the title from them, you had to take it from Cody first. Cody said that Cena is sincere, angry, and willing. Cody said perhaps he is the most dangerous that Cena has ever been. Cody told Cena he made a massive mistake was not hitting Cody in the head, the mistake was saying what he just said to these people while Cody was in the building. The fans sang for Cody again. Cody said that Cena of all people should know how hard Cody fought to hold this one time and validate one name. Cody said that Cena wanted to take this, so Cody put it on the mat. Cody gave Cena the opportunity to take it right now. Cena teased that he was going to pick up the title, but instead, he backed away and the fans booed Cena leaving the ring. Cena left with his towel.

Analysis: It’s the second week in a row that Cena didn’t respond after Cody talked to him.

Cody shouted at Cena while he was in the aisle. Cody was ready for a fight, but Cena shook his head no and Cena walked to the back. Cody said he could not let Cena do it. Cody said that he needs Cena to see him and Cody talked about his need to keep it greater than Cena’s need to take it. Cody said that Cena walking away is how he’ll walk away from WrestleMania and how Cena will walk away from WWE. Cena walked to the back while Cody stood tall in the ring.

Analysis: Good job by Cody Rhodes again as the babyface standing up to John Cena. I’d like to see them go back and forth a bit on the microphone, but I understand why Cena walks away because it’s a way to get him more heat by not responding to Cody. There should be a point where Cena trashes Cody saying he’s only a 1-time World Champion while Cena did it 16 times and he’ll beat Cody for a 17th World Title. They can do that in the future, but there are not that many weeks left. What matters is the crowd is really into the story because they hate Cena and love Cody as much as ever, so that’s a great thing.

A recap aired from last week’s Raw when Bron Breakker beat Finn Balor thanks in part to Dominik Mysterio accidentally costing Balor the match. Penta saved Bron from an attack by The Judgment Day. Bron and Penta had a staredown, so their match is in the main event this week on Raw.

Jey Uso made his entrance joined by his brother Jimmy Uso to show that The Usos were reunited. There was a lot of arm-swinging and “YEET” chanting of course for Jey’s entrance. During the break for some fans, The Usos did their arm-swinging routine with the fans joining them for about three minutes. Their opponents, A-Town Down Under, made their entrance leading to boos from the fans.

Analysis: It was supposed to be Jey Uso and a mystery partner. I mentioned Jimmy Uso in my review, but I had a lot of people suggest it could be TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, who is from Scotland. That would have been cool to see Joe. I don’t mind Jimmy in this spot.

The Usos – Jey & Jimmy Uso vs. A-Town Down Under – Austin Theory & Grayson Waller

It was mentioned by Cole that it was a year and a half since The Usos teamed up and that was when they beat Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa. Jimmy beat Waller and Theory in back to back weeks in singles matches.

Jey nailed Theory with a clothesline, so Waller tagged in. Jey hit an uppercut along with a jumping kick. Jimmy tagged in for a double team elbow and a double clothesline on Waller. The Usos sent Theory out of the ring. Jimmy jumped over the top onto both opponents on the floor. Waller worked over Jimmy with forearms to the chest, but Jimmy came back with an uppercut. Jimmy chopped Waller, Theory made a blind tag and Jimmy punched Waller on the floor. Theory the legal man hit Jimmy with a forearm to the jaw. That was a loud smack to the jaw so they replayed it. Theory stomped on Jimmy’s hand as the show went to a break for some fans while the action continued. Theory worked over Jimmy with strikes. Waller was legal for his team as he set up Jimmy against the ropes and Waller hit a forearm to the back. Theory was back in with a springboard stomp on Jimmy. After Theory did a headlock, Jimmy hit a belly-to-back suplex. Theory was back in with punches.

The match continued with Waller working over Jimmy as the face-in-peril, but Jimmy hit a Samoan Drop on a jumping Waller. Jey got the hot tag with a clothesline on Theory along with punches. Jey kicked Theory in the gut and Jey hit a step up enziguri kick to send Theory into the turnbuckle. Jey hit a running hip attack and superkicks for both opponents. Waller tagged in as both heels hit Jey with forearms and a punch to the jaw for two. Waller went for an elbow drop off the middle rope, but Jey moved. Jimmy tagged in for a popup Samoan Drop. Jimmy kicked Theory on the apron and that allowed Waller to hit the ropes to knock Jimmy down on the turnbuckle. Jey tagged back in, Jimmy hit a superkick and Jimmy launched Theory into the air leading to Jey hitting a Spear. The Usos hit 1D on Theory and Jey pinned Theory for the pinfall win after about 11 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: The Usos

Analysis: ***1/4 It was cool to see The Usos back in action again. The A-Town Down Under guys lose nearly every match they have, so it was obvious what was going to happen here. The A-Town Down Under team works well together as heels even though they don’t get wins. I thought that The Usos worked very well together and looked like they had no rust as a team even though it’s been a while since they teamed up.

The Usos were celebrating the win, so Gunther showed up to pull Jimmy off the turnbuckle to the floor. Jey nailed Gunther with multiple superkicks. Jey went for a Spear, but Jey slipped and Gunther worked over Jey with elbow smashes. Jimmy brought a steel chair in, so Gunther backed out of the ring.

Analysis: There has been this interaction between Gunther and Jey every week with cheap attacks by Gunther while Jey keeps fighting back. Jey slipping puts over the idea that he could make a mistake during their match, and it could cost them. I wouldn’t say this feud has been hot going into WrestleMania, but the fans are still behind Jey and I think Jey should win at WrestleMania.

The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez were shown backstage about how Raquel will be a double champion. Dominik Mysterio & Carlito walked in to talk to Liv Morgan. Dominik mentioned Finn Balor being upset after losing last week. They mentioned Finn Balor not wanting to add more members to the group. Liv mentioned Raquel Rodriguez is going to be a double champ. Liv told Dominik to trust himself saying he always had brains. Carlito did not have an extra apple for Dominik. Poor guy.

Lyra Valkyria was shown walking backstage where she was talking to Bayley. Lyra’s match with Raquel was next.

There was a video package about Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria as a fighting champion. Raquel Rodriguez was also featured in the video. This was during a break for some fans.

A video aired plugging some of the WrestleMania 41 events coming to Las Vegas in August.

There was a video about lucha libre history putting over big names like Blue Demon, Mil Mascaras and The Guerrero Family. There was a video about El Grande Americano claiming he was a big star, but then he disappeared without a trace. They said that the legend has returned to bring honor and legacy back to this great sport. He is an icon, a trailblazer and he is El Grande Americano.

Analysis: That is Chad Gable’s gimmick even though he denies that it is him. I’m enjoying it. The video looked legit and also was cheesy at the same time, so good job by WWE.

The Raw GM Adam Pearce was talking to Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee. Rey said that was Chad Gable. Chad walked in saying that was not him and claimed that somebody got him sick. Chad handed Pearce a doctor’s note saying he couldn’t compete tonight. Pearce said it was legit. Gable said that maybe Lee could take on the new guy El Grande Americano. Lee said he’ll take the match, so Pearce said it’s official. Rey told Gable he was a real jackass.

Analysis: At least they are having fun with this angle and storyline. I didn’t think it would last as long as it has, so I’ll give them credit for keeping it going.

They showed actor Richard Gadd at ringside.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Lyra Valkyria vs. Raquel Rodriguez (w/Liv Morgan)

Lyra went for a takedown, but Raquel was able to toss her down. Raquel spun Lyra around before slamming her down. Lyra came back with a dropkick to the left knee. Raquel tried a power move, but Lyra managed to send Raquel through the ropes to the floor. Raquel caught Lyra on the floor and Lyra hit a hurricanrana into the commentary table. Back in the ring, Lyra jumped off the top with nothing because Raquel nailed her with a boot. They went to a break for some fans as I’ll take a break too. It was mostly Raquel controlling the action.

Raquel remained in dominant with a slingshot suplex into a pin attempt for two. Raquel missed an elbow off the turnbuckle because she took way too long and Lyra moved. Lyra went up top and hit a leg drop to the back of the head for two. Lyra tried a lift, but Raquel powered out of it and Raquel hit a clothesline to the back. Raquel hit a corkscrew elbow off the turnbuckle for two. Lyra tried a move off the turnbuckle, Raquel caught her and Lyra hit a DDT for two because Liv put Raquel’s foot on the bottom rope. The referee saw the foot on the rope, but she didn’t see Liv was the one who put the foot there. Lyra kicked Liv down on the floor. Lyra countered Raquel and got a forward roll leading to Lyra sitting on top while holding onto the legs for the pinfall win after about nine minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Lyra Valkyria

Analysis: **1/2 It was a solid match with Raquel using her power a lot and Lyra doing a nice job of fighting back. Lyra won without using her finisher. Instead, it was a counter move to get the creative victory.

After the match, Liv and Raquel attacked Lyra, so Bayley ran to the ring to make the save. Bayley knocked Liv out of the ring. Lyra saved Bayley from Raquel. Lyra and Bayley worked together to flip Raquel over the top to the floor. The fans sang the “Hey Bayley” song when they saw her. Bayley picked up the Women’s IC Title and handed it to the champion Valkyria.

Analysis: That could set up a tag team match with Bayley & Valkyria against Raquel & Liv. I guess they could do Bayley against Lyra at some point too, but I don’t see that as a WrestleMania match. I think they might get multiple teams going after Raquel & Liv’s titles, so that’s where this could be headed.

They showed Pat McAfee visiting a place where they found him a kilt, so Pat showed off his kilt while standing on the commentary table. Pat said it was an honor to be there. Pat said that he didn’t buy it, so he had to give it back.

A video package aired recapping the IYO SKY-Bianca Belair story and Rhea Ripley getting involved. Ripley signed a contract for the Women’s World Title match at WrestleMania 41 that is supposed to be Sky against Belair. It took a few minutes to get through the video.

The Raw GM Adam Pearce was shown walking backstage with the contract in hand.

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods were supposed to be interviewed by Jackie Redmond, but they told Jackie to leave. This was during a break. Kofi said they’ve been all over Europe dealing with the booing fans, so they can’t wait to get out of there. Woods said that America has higher quality of people while trashing the unintelligent people in Europe and the children in Europe are ugly. Kofi said they had a Netflix exclusive. Woods said that they would walk out of WrestleMania as your new World Tag Team Champions. Kofi said you should be grateful that they are going to save the tag team division again. Woods said you should say: “Thank God for The New Day.” That was it.

Analysis: I am in favor of The New Day winning the World Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. They are very entertaining in their heel role and I’d like to see them as champions in this role.

A video aired about Triple H’s WWE Hall of Fame induction. They showed highlights of SummerSlam 1998 when Triple H beat The Rock to win the Intercontinental Title in a great Ladder Match. They had some talking heads putting over how good it was. The Rock said it was a great match and he was very proud of it. A few months later, Rock won his first WWE Title and a year later was when Triple H won his first WWE Title.

Jey Uso was shown backstage sitting on some stairs backstage. Jimmy Uso sat beside his brother saying that Jey became a joke when he slipped on that dive and he became a meme. Jimmy said Jey was out there slipping this week and if he continues this, he won’t win at WrestleMania. Jey said he knows. Jey said that he was 3-0 against Gunther and he should have said he was 0-3. Jey said he doesn’t know if he can beat him and Jimmy said you can’t beat him. Jimmy said this Jey can’t do it. Jimmy said that he needed the right-hand man, the one that became the Main Event Jey Uso and the one that won the Royal Rumble. Jimmy said “You got me” and Jimmy left. Jimmy saw Gunther in a hallway. Jimmy told Gunther he wanted a match next week. Gunther said sure, as long as you don’t trip and fall like your brother. Jimmy slapped Gunther hard in the face. Jimmy left while Gunther smiled.

Analysis: Great slap by Jimmy. It sounded loud and it might have hurt a bit too. Jimmy’s speech trying to hype up his brother Jey was really good. They mentioned Jey’s dive mistake last week and his slip this week, so the slip was a way to follow up on the dive mistake to show that Jey is “off” right now. Gunther should beat Jimmy next week.

Let’s Hear from Raw GM Adam Pearce, Iyo Sky, Bianca Belair & Rhea Ripley

Adam Pearce was in the ring saying he’s not going to add Rhea Ripley to the Women’s World Title match at WrestleMania. Pearce said that Ripley is owed a rematch and he wants to give her that match, but she’s not agreeing to it. Pearce said that Iyo Sky is the Women’s World Champion while Bianca Belair earned the title shot by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Iyo Sky showed up saying she didn’t care about the contract. Sky said that she didn’t care who it was because she would take on both of them. Sky said that she is the Women’s World Champion. Pearce said he knows she is a fighting champion, but here’s another interruption.

Bianca Belair was next up with a microphone in hand. Belair said that she earned that number one contender spot and she went through Elimination Chamber to get to WrestleMania. Belair said she was not about to let Rhea headbutt her way into the match. Belair said if she did not earn it then she did not deserve it. Pearce tried to speak, but he was interrupted again.

Reha Ripley got the biggest pop of the three women as she made her way down to the ring. Ripley said she didn’t give a damn about WrestleMania and she didn’t care who she had to go through to get her title back. Ripley got into the ring saying all she wants is her rematch. Pearce said they’ve been talking about it for weeks. Belair told Ripley she could get a rematch after WrestleMania with Belair. Sky stepped up, so Ripley shoved Sky down.

Pearce said that he had a solution if they let him speak. Pearce told Ripley next week, Ripley gets her rematch against Sky and the winner of that match would face Belair at WrestleMania 41. Pearce left. Sky charged at Belair, who launched Sky into the air and Sky gave Ripley a DDT. Ripley hit a boot on Belair. Sky hit an uppercut on Ripley. Sky countered Belair, who clotheslined Ripley out of the ring. Sky did a necksnap on Belair against the top rope. Sky jumped off the steel steps with a hurricanrana on Ripley on the floor. Sky jumped toward Belair, who avoided it and Belair hit a KOD slam on Sky over the top onto Ripley on the floor. Belair held up the Women’s World Title while pointing at the WrestleMania sign to end it.

Analysis: It sets up the title match next week with Sky and Ripley, which will likely have a finish that has a disputed pin. Maybe it ends as a draw or something like that. I think the triple threat match at WrestleMania is still the direction for this trio and that’s fine with me because it will be an awesome match. As a segment, it was okay with the three women making their points known while Raw GM Adam Pearce was very frustrated about the situation. Good ending with Belair standing tall.

Dominik Mysterio talked to Penta backstage. Dominik said that he was there to offer Penta a spot in The Judgment Day and said he could be Intercontinental Champion. Dominik told him to think about it.

There was a video package about Ivy Nile talking about her goals. This was during a break for some fans.

They plugged some WrestleMania activities including The Undertaker’s Deadman show.

A video aired about the World Tag Team Champions, the War Raiders. They said your time to run and hide has ended. That was a quick video.

The New Day walked into Adam Pearce’s office demanding a World Tag Team Title shot at WrestleMania. Pearce told them not to demand a title match like that. Pearce told them if they try to win a match to earn a title shot then maybe he’ll consider it. The New Day left.

Analysis: I am in favor of people earning title shots, so that’s fine if The New Day has to win a match or two to earn a title shot.

Bianca Belair walked into Adam Pearce’s office. Pearce told Belair she’ll be the referee of the Sky/Ripley match next week. Belair said she didn’t know how to referee. Pearce said she had a week to figure it out. Belair left frustrated.

Analysis: I don’t know how they are going to book that finish, but I assume it’s a disputed ending to set up Sky-Ripley-Belair at WrestleMania.

El Grande Americano vs. Dragon Lee

They announced “El Grande Americano” from the Gulf of America, which was renamed after being called the Gulf of Mexico for decades.

The Grande man looks like Chad Gable of course, but Chad claimed it wasn’t him. Grande sent Lee to the apron followed by a punch off the apron. Lee did a hurricanrana to send Grande out of the ring. Lee hit a suicide dive onto Grande on the floor. They were back in the ring where Grande hit a hurricanrana and a headbutt to the chest. The fans sang “Ole Ole Ole” for Grande. Lee kicked Grande on the apron. Grande caught Lee on the apron and Grande hit an impressive T-Bone Suplex off the apron onto the floor. They went to break for some fans. Grande was in control with an armbar. Grande hit a running forearm after that. Lee tried a leaping move off the apron, but Grande turned it into a suplex for two. That’s a Gable spot of course. Grande says “Gracias” while Cole reminded us that Gable likes to say “Thank you” a lot. Grande had Lee on his back in a submission hold.

The match continued with Lee countering Grande with a forward roll into a pin. Grande charged right into a knee to the head. Lee jumped off the top with a double foot stomp to the chest while on the apron. Lee was grabbing his right knee as he bumped to the floor. Lee and Grande exchanged chops to the chest. Lee hit a boot to the head, Grande hit a forearm to the head and Lee hit a release German Suplex. Lee hit a superkick. Lee charged and Grande hit an overhead suplex into the turnbuckle for a two count. What a great bump by Lee there. Grande went up top for a moonsault, but Lee avoided it and Lee hit a sitout Powerbomb for two. The fans chanted “This is awesome” as Lee went up top and Grande pulled his mask off. Lee was covering his face, so Grande applied an Ankle Lock, Lee covered his face with his hands and Lee tapped out to the Ankle Lock. It lasted about 10 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: El Grande Americano

Analysis: ***1/2 It was a terrific match that deserved the “This is awesome” chant during the match. El Grande Americano is ridiculous because we know it’s Chad Gable, but I am still entertained by it and he’s doing a great job in the role. Lee had some great bumps in the match, especially that one into the turnbuckle. Grande taking off the mask was a shocker because it forced Lee to cover his face and Grande capitalized to win the match.

A video package aired about Smackdown last week featuring the Roman Reigns-CM Punk-Seth Rollins brawl in the main event. Their WrestleMania 41 match is now official.

CM Punk made his entrance to a huge ovation from the crowd. The fans were chanting “CM Punk” and they sang his “Cult of Personality” song as well. They went to a break for some fans. Punk spent a few minutes posing for the fans.

A clip was shown of CM Punk talking to Stephanie McMahon on her “Stephanie’s Places” show on ESPN +. Punk admitted that maybe he’s more similar to Triple H than they cared to admit.

The graphic was shown for WrestleMania 41: CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins.

Let’s Hear from CM Punk

There were loud “CM Punk” chants as Punk said it was great to be alive on a Monday night in Glasgow. Punk said while he loves to be there, he’s pissed off and then said it’s hard to be mad after an ovation like that. Punk said he’s a little tired, he’s a lot jet lagged and it’s mostly because of the uncertainty surrounding his road to WrestleMania. Punk reminded us that he has a match. Punk said what he wants, he’s not getting…or am I? Punk said what he wanted to do was win the Royal Rumble and he didn’t and he didn’t win the Elimination Chamber. Punk said that the more things change, the more they stay the same because he works with children. Punk said that Seth Rollins is a “diaper piss baby” that screwed Punk at Elimination Chamber, which doesn’t get Punk what he wants. Punk said that it’s become simple math. Punk said that the two men that are standing in his way gotta go.

Punk said that Rollins has been crying ever since Punk got back here referring to WWE. Punk said that Roman Reigns is taking this personally because he sees in real time that his “wise man” isn’t just Roman’s wise man. Punk said that this Friday on Smackdown in London, they will have an old-fashioned contract signing. The fans booed, so Punk said that they were booing because they wanted it here and he wanted it here too. Punk said he wants to read the fine print to see if this match gets him any closer to what he wants or if it will be just a rug pull from the powers that be. Punk told Seth and Roman to fuel up the jet and he’ll see them at the contract signing.

Punk said that neither of them has ever defeated Punk without the other one’s help because they can’t. Punk said that the last thing is that he brought them into this business and he cannot wait to take them both out of it. Punk said “Best in the world” to end it.

Analysis: A confident promo by CM Punk as usual without Rollins or Reigns there to respond. Punk made good points as usual. That last line by Punk was about how he brought The Shield into WWE in 2012, which is true because it was his idea.

Next week’s Raw in London will be at 3 p.m. ET since Europe is moving their clocks ahead next week. Here in North America, we did that a few weeks ago.

A promo aired from Logan Paul on Instagram saying he’ll be in London on Raw next week. Paul told AJ Styles to bring his A Game, his soccer mom haircut and Logan will see him there.

Here’s the lineup for next week on Raw:

* Logan Paul calls out AJ Styles

* Jimmy Uso vs. Gunther

* Cody Rhodes & John Cena face to face

* Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Rhea Ripley with Bianca Belair as the special guest referee.

Analysis: That’s a solid lineup. I assume they’ll make the Paul-Styles WrestleMania match soon.

The Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker was interviewed by Cathy Kelley, who asked if Bron was concerned about Penta joining The Judgment Day. Bron said it didn’t concern him. Bron said he’ll retain his championship because the dogs are barking in Glasgow.

The American Made group featuring Chad Gable, The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile appeared by the entrance. This was during a break for some fans. Gable apologized for getting sick and said he wanted to perform for them. The fans booed, so Gable fake coughed while saying he was booed. Gable said El Grande Americano is a new luchador to lead the luchadores in WWE. Gable said now that he knows the future is in good hands, it’s time for him to go home to the US. They left.

Analysis: A strong heel promo from Gable as usual.

It was main event time as Penta made his entrance to a big pop. That was followed by the Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker. The dogs were barking for him as he said.

Intercontinental Championship: Bron Breakker vs. Penta

Bron hit a running clothesline early on. Penta ran at Bron leading to a hurricanrana that sent Bron into the ropes. Bron went to the apron, so Penta went for a springboard attack, but Bron hit a jumping knee to stop that. Bron jumped off the apron leading to a clothesline that sent Penta over the commentary table while Bron landed hard on the floor as well. They showed Dominik Mysterio and Carlito walking out to ringside as the show went to break. The fans booed that. They went to a break for some fans as the action continued. Bron sent Penta into the commentary hood. Bron put Penta back into the ring and Bron kicked him in the ribs. Bron showed off by doing push-ups in the ring. Penta got a few chops, but Bron got his foot up to knock Penta down. Bron hit an overhead suplex across the ring for two. Bron hit a suplex for two followed by a chinlock.

The match continued with Penta hitting a chop to the chest, but Bron came back with a punch. Penta hit some punches, Bron hit a forearm and Penta hit a superkick. Bron hit a jumping knee to the face. Bron ran the ropes leading to Penta hitting a superkick. Penta kicked Bron in the body a couple of times followed by a facebuster. Bron stopped a Penta dive with a punch. Penta countered Bron by going to his back and Penta hit a Backstabber for a two count. Carlito liked that move since Carlito has been doing it for decades. Bron blocked a Destroyer attempt and Bron did a press slam into the double knees for a two count. Bron charged, Penta hit a super kick and an enziguri kick. Bron put Penta on his shoulders, but Penta got out of that and Penta hit an impressive headscissors to send Bron out of the ring. Penta hit a somersault dive over the top onto Bron on the floor. The fans chanted “This is awesome” for the entertaining action. Back in the ring, Penta hit an impressive Mexican Destroyer for a two count because Bron got his right shoulder up. Penta tried a move, but Bron hit two elbows to get out of that. Penta went up top and Bron jumped up top with a Frankensteiner for a two count. Bron set up for the Spear as the fans were barking, so Dominik distracted the referee and Bron brought Carlito into the ring. Bron hit a Spear on Carlito. Dominik went into the ring with a chop block to Bron’s knee for the DQ finish. It went about 11 minutes.

Winner by disqualification: Bron Breakker

Analysis: ***1/4 A good match with a cheap ending like last week’s Breakker match against Balor. This time they went with a DQ to protect both guys but not having either of them take a pin. I’m not surprised by that because it protects Penta, who has been kept strong since he debuted in WWE.

After the match, Carlito punched Bron a few times. Finn Balor showed up in the ring and hit Bron in the back with the chair. Balor hit Bron with the chair again. Balor told Dom to hit Bron, so Dom used the end of the chair to hit Bron in the chest a few times. Dominik gave Penta the chair, so Penta held the chair, he tossed the chair to Dominik and Penta superkicked the chair into Dominik. Balor knocked down Penta with a clothesline to the back of the head. Balor stomped on Penta. Balor hit Bron with a chair to the back to knock Bron out of the ring. Balor went up top and hit a Coup de Grace double foot stomp on Penta. Balor picked up Dominik and Carlito went into the ring with them, so The Judgment Day stood tall. That was the end of Raw.

Analysis: It was reported earlier in the day that the WrestleMania 41 plan is for it to be Breakker-Penta-Balor-Dominik in a four-way match, so they are on their way to setting that up. It makes The Judgment Day look strong for now, but it may not last for long since Balor and Dominik will be in the same match. Penta was obviously not going heel, so having him superkick the chair into Dominik’s face was a fine way to say no. This made Balor look strong by the end of it.

This week’s Raw runtime was 2 hours, 24 minutes. That’s about two minutes longer than last week.

Final Thoughts on WWE Raw

It was like last week in a lot of ways with some solid in-ring action following a lengthy John Cena promo. I thought Cena’s promo was strong for the second week in a row while Cody Rhodes standing up to him was the right way to book that. I would like to see them go back and forth on the microphone a bit more in the future.

I enjoyed seeing The Usos together again. The main event was fine with Breakker and Penta, but obviously, they are trying to build to that four-way at WM41 rather than book a clean finish. The women’s 3-way story was advanced as well because they set up a match next week.

The Glasgow crowd was loud most of the night. They weren’t as good as Brussels or Bologna last week, but I thought they had a lot of energy and that always helps the show.

The next WWE PLE is WrestleMania 41 on April 19 & April 20 in Las Vegas. Here is the lineup so far.

* Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena

* CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

* WWE Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY (c) vs. Bianca Belair

* WWE World Heavyweight Championship: GUNTHER (c) vs. Jey Uso

* WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

* Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens

There will be more matches added in the weeks ahead.
