TJRWrestling WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2025 Preview

WWE NXT Stand Deliver Preview

It’s WWE NXT Stand & Deliver featuring Oba Femi facing Trick Williams & Je’Von Evans, Stephanie Vaquer battling Jaida Parker, Giulia & Jordynne Grace, and more.

This is the sixth edition of NXT Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend. Since 2022, it has taken place in the same city as WrestleMania, so it’s treated by many in NXT as their biggest show of the year. Since it’s the biggest show, the card is loaded with multi-person matches to get more people on the card. This year’s S&D has seven matches couting the pre-show.

If you read my NXT reviews weekly on TJRWrestling then you know that I’m a big fan of the NXT brand. I am doing a ridiculous amount of writing in the coming days, but I wanted to preview this show because I think the NXT brand is doing a good job of utilizing its roster and I am looking forward to the show.

You can watch NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 19th, streaming live at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix for many of us internationally including me in Canada. That’s a very early start time, especially for the wrestlers because they will be wrestling at 10 a.m. locally in Las Vegas. Good luck sleeping the night before. I’m guessing the runtime for this show is 2.5 hours long with 3 hours maximum. Let’s get to it.

4-Way Tag Team Elimination Match: Meta-Four (Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson) vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne) vs. Tatum Paxley & Gigi Dolin vs. Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade – PRE-SHOW

The winners of this match get a Women’s Tag Team Title match on NXT this Tuesday.

This was announced as an elimination match, so that’s better than just being a four way match with one fall. I feel like the Perez & Jade team could win, but I also think Perez joining the main roster right after WrestleMania is a possibly, I’ll go in another directions. Paxley & Dolin are a face team that has also worked TNA shows recently. Fatal Influence could use a big win like this, so I think it’s them or the Meta-Four girls. I like Lash & Jakara a lot and we’ve seen them go after the titles before. I’m going to go with Lash & Jakara winning here and perhaps they win the gold on NXT this Tuesday too.

Winners: Meta-Four (Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson)

Six-Man Tag Team Match: The D’Angelo Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino) vs. Darkstate (Saquon Shugars, Cutler James, Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin)

It will be three members of Darkstate, but we don’t know what three guys it will be. Last time they wrestled it was Shugars, James and Lennox.

If you read my NXT reviews then you know my prediction is that I think Stacks is going to turn on Tony D and Darkstate will win. I also wonder if Stacks will join Darkstate as the leader of the group. If not that’s fine, but I think Stacks will turn on Tony out of jealousy and Darkstate will win. I feel like Darkstate will win nearly every match they have for several weeks because it’s important to make them look strong as a new group.

Winners: Darkstate (Saquon Shugars, Cutler James, Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin)

Ladder Match for the vacant NXT Women’s North American Championship: Zaria vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Sol Ruca vs. Izzi Dame vs. Lola Vice vs. Thea Hail

This will be a lot of fun and it’s also hard to predict. I doubt Jordan wins since she’s been the champion before. Dame has an outside shot to establish her as a big deal, but she’s not my pick. Same with Vice. I just don’t see it. Zaria was going to be my pick because they brought her in as a big deal a few months back, she’s mostly been in tags with Ruca and I think putting this title on her makes a lot of sense. Ruca just won the Women’s Speed Title, which isn’t a big deal, but I think Zaria is more likely to win than her. Zaria was my pick until they added Thea Hail to the match. The fans love Hail, she’s been on NXT for a few years and I think putting a title on her in this new role post-Chase U is a great idea.

It’s the only Ladder Match of WrestleMania weekend, so these six women have the opportunity to stand out. I hope they do a great job.

Winner AND NEW NXT Women’s North American Champion: Thea Hail

NXT Tag Team Championships: Nathan Frazer & Axiom (c) vs. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger

The Hank & Tank team has been the focus of the tag team division, other than Frazer & Axiom, for months, so I’m not surprised to see Hank & Tank in this spot. The team of Frazer & Axiom are amazing and they’ve also had a long title reign while beating nearly everybody there is to beat in NXT. That leads to the question asking how much longer do they need to be in NXT? I think they’re ready to “graduate” to the main roster and we’ve seen both guys on the main roster recently anyway. Frazer & Axiom going to the main roster right after WrestleMania or in the May draft makes a lot of sense to me. It feels like the right time and right place to give Hank & Tank that big win.

Winners AND NEW NXT Tag Team Champions: Hank & Tank

NXT North American Championship: Ricky Saints (c) vs. Ethan Page

Ricky Saints just won the NXT North American Title on the April 1st edition of NXT, so I would be very surprised if he lost the title to Ethan Page in this match. This was set up with Page attacking Ricky after his win and Page has credibility as a former NXT Champion, so the match makes sense. Page is another guy on this brand who is likely going to be on the main roster either right after WrestleMania or the May draft. Page put over Je’Von Evans in his last feud and now he’s going to lose to Ricky Saints. That’s what people do when they’re on their way off the brand.

It should be a competitive match that’s entertaining and featuring two guys with strong personalities. I think Saints winning here is probably the most predictable outcome on the show.

Winner: Ricky Saints

NXT Women’s Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Giulia vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Jaida Parker

There was a two month title reign for Giulia to start the year, then Stephanie Vaquer beat Giulia to become a double champion in early March and now they’re in the same match again. I’m not sure if Giulia is going to be on the main roster as quickly as some of the others I mentioned in this preview, but it seems like a possibility in the coming months.

I like Vaquer a lot as the champion, but I feel like the women’s division in NXT is so stacked right now that it seems unlikely that any woman will hold the title for six months or more like Roxanne Perez or Mandy Rose in recent years. A title reign for three or four months may become the norm because there are so many women who deserve a reign. That brings me to Parker and Grace because they’re both future NXT Women’s Champions. Parker in particular has improved so much in the last year while Grace is proven from her TNA days. I just don’t see a title change happening here. My feeling is that Vaquer’s reign should continue. This might be the best match on the show. These ladies are awesome.

Winner: Stephanie Vaquer

NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Trick Williams vs. Je’Von Evans

The rise of Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans over the last year and a half or so has been amazing. Femi was a shotputter in college who has fit in so well and has the potential to be a future WrestleMania main eventer. I think all three guys could be that too, by the way. It’s just with Femi he seems so natural, and the size helps. Evans is so talented for a guy who is just 20 years old and will only get better in the years ahead. Watching Evans get better over the next few years is going to be one of my favorite parts of reviewing NXT in the coming years because he’s like watching a rookie NFL or NBA player go from being a top prospect to being one of the biggest stars. I think Evans needs to try to gain some weight and improve his promos, but in-ring he’s already very good. That will improve too as he gets older.

Trick Williams has been part of the NXT brand for over three and a half years (since September 2021), so that’s another guy in this preview who I think is destined for the main roster soon. Trick has been NXT Champion twice with two short title reigns. He’s been a heel, he’s been a top face and I think he’s going to be on Raw or Smackdown after he headlines this show. Trick seems ready to me since he’s got the catchy theme song, a lot of charisma and he’s a good talker.

As far as this match goes, my lean is to go with Oba Femi retaining. Since it’s a triple threat, they could do the shocking thing by having Evans pin Trick and Oba loses the title without getting pinned, but I think it makes more sense for Oba to retain. I would build up Evans more in the coming months and have him win in a singles match. This is a nice taste for Evans in the main event. However, Femi’s reign should continue. This match will be awesome and one of the best matches on the show for sure.

Winner: Oba Femi

BONUS TOPICS FOR WWE NXT STAND & DELIVER

The Match I’m Looking Forward To The Most

I’m tied between the NXT Title and NXT Women’s Title. I think both champions will retain.

The Match I Care About The Least

The D’Angelo Family vs. Darkstate

Longest Match

There are six matches on the main show, so I doubt anything gets over 25 minutes. I’ll go with the Vaquer/Grace/Parker/Giulia match at around 18 minutes.

Shortest Match

The D’Angelo Family vs. Darkstate in about 10 minutes.

Excitement Level on a Scale of 1-10 (1 being low, 10 being high)

I’m going with a 7.5 out of 10. I think the in-ring action will be strong and I hope there are some shocking moments that I don’t see coming. I think having a lot of multi-person matches makes sense to get more people on the show, but it also feels repetitive. Out of seven matches, there’s only one 1-on-1 match. I like the traditional singles matches more. Anyway, I also think this show could be the end of a few people on NXT because that’s what happens this time of year. People “graduate” to Raw or Smackdown. It’s just how the business is. Anyway, I’m looking forward to Stand & Deliver

I’ll be back with a review of the WWE NXT Stand & Deliver on TJRWrestling.net on Saturday, so check that out live or after it’s over. You can also tweet me on X/Twitter at @johnreport as well.
