AEW Collision (Grand Slam) Results – September 28, 2024

AEW Collision September 28

This is AEW Collision featuring “Hangman” Adam Page taking on Jeff Jarrett, Jamie Hayter against Saraya, Kazuchika Okada facing Sammy Guevara, and more.

The show was taped on Wednesday at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City after AEW Dynamite. The announcers for Collision were Tony Schiavone, Ian Riccaboni & Matt Menard

Match #1: Jamie Hayter defeated Saraya (w/Harley Cameron) by pinfall in a Saraya Rules Match. They used weapons throughout the match including toy cars and tables. Hayter won with a Tombstone Piledriver followed by a lariat.

There were clips shown of Renee Paquette’s sit-down interview with AEW International Champion Will Ospreay and Ricochet to hype up their Dynamite match on October 2nd.

Match #2: The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith & Big Bill) defeated The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy & Kyle O’Reilly) by pinfall. Big Bill gave Briscoe a Chokeslam through a table. Jericho covered Briscoe for the win.

After the match, Jericho did the “belt signal” to the camera, so Jericho has his eyes on the ROH World Title held by Mark Briscoe, which Jericho held in the past.

Match #3: Brody King defeated Action Andretti by pinfall. King won in under two minutes. King won with a cannonball attack against the turnbuckle.

After the match, Lance Archer and The Righteous attacked Top Flight on the ramp. Andretti recovered and dove onto The Righteous. Referees showed up to prevent more fighting. That will probably lead to a future match.

Match #4: TNT Championship – Jack Perry defeated Minoru Suzuki by countout to retain the title. This was an open challenge. Perry won after hitting a DDT on the floor and a running knee attack into the steel steps. A rare countout win in AEW. After the match, Perry tried to attack Suzuki more, but Katsuyori Shibata ran out for the save and Perry left. Shibata shook hands with Suzuki.

Match #5: AEW Trios Tag Team Championships – Claudio Castagnoli, Pac & Wheeler Yuta defeated Private Party & Komander by submission. Yuta won by submission with a Cattle Mutilation. Yuta refused to celebrate with Claudio & Pac.

There was a video about the Outrunners claiming they were coming for the gold.

Match #6: Hologram defeated “The Beast” Mortos and Dralistico by pinfall. Hologram won with a crucifix pinning move on Dralistico hooking the arms for the win. Hologram is 12-0 in AEW.

After the match, Rush grabbed Mortos and Dralistico and hugged them. Hologram went after them with punches, so Rush, Mortos & Dralistico beat up Hologram with Rush hitting a headbutt to Hologram’s head.

Kris Statlander did a quick interview saying she calls her own shots and she’ll let us know when she’s ready to reveal what she’s doing next.

The MxM Collection of Mase Madden & Mansoor did a Grand Slam Fashion Walk. This led to Billy Gunn revealing himself and Gunn beat up Madden & Mansoor, but other “models” attacked him. The Acclaimed made the save for Gunn, which led to Acclaimed & Gunn scissoring to end it.

Match #7: “Hangman” Adam Page defeated Jeff Jarrett in a Lumberjack Strap Match by pinfall. Page hit a low blow that the referee didn’t see followed by the Deadeye slam for the win. After the match, Page briefly choked Juice Robinson with a strap until The Gunns made the save.

After the show, AEW announced Hangman Page will face Juice Robinson on the October 2nd edition of Dynamite.

Who Won The AEW Collision Main Event?

Match #8: AEW Continental Championship – Kazuchika Okada defeated Sammy Guevara by pinfall. Okada won with the Rainmaker clothesline. The show ended right after the match.

That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading.
