AEW Collision September 14

This is AEW Collision featuring FTR facing Grizzled Young Veterans in the main event and Jack Perry in singles action.

The show was taped on Thursday at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. The announcers for Collision were Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

Wheeler Yuta was interviewed saying Bryan Danielson is doing the best he can. Wheeler was focused on his match tonight.

Match #2: Hologram & The Conglomeration’s ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe and Kyle O’Reilly defeated The Beast Mortos & The Premier Athletes—Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari (with “Smart” Mark Sterling and Josh Woods) by pinfall. Serena Deeb was backstage with Queen Aminata offering her career advice. Aminata didn’t seem interested.

Match #4: Komander (with Alex Abrahantes) & Private Party—Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen defeated Jon Cruz, Lord Crewe & Red Jones by pinfall. Private Party won with Gin & Juice in a match that was under two minutes.

Nigel McGuinness did a promo at the commentary table about facing Bryan Danielson in a non-title match at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam on September 25th:

“I can’t [be sure that Bryan Danielson can compete]. And Tony Khan can’t. But let’s be honest, when Jon Moxley convinced Darby Allin to put his title opportunity on the line, he did it out of pure speculation, which is what I said to Tony Khan.

“There’s no way we can know Bryan Danielson won’t be able to show up at Grand Slam. So I said if he is, with Darby Allin no longer able to face him, I would like to. So I’ll be there at Arthur Ashe. The question is, will Bryan?”

“My point is this: Bryan, if you’re not there, it’s not because of your condition. It’s because he’s afraid of me. I’ve said it before, Tony, and now I’m gonna show the world why.

“Just look at this. Sixteen years ago, Bryan Danielson and I were bitter rivals on equal standing, clashing for the Ring of Honor World title in matches that had the wrestling world abuzz.

“But there has been no one before or since that has beaten Bryan Danielson so convincingly, so brutally and so thoroughly that no matter how much success he has had in his career, winning the AEW World title at Wembley Stadium, he is still haunted by the memories of facing me in the ring.”

“Sixteen years later, I’m in the best shape of my life. Better than him, because he is nothing more than a physical wreck. But don’t worry Bryan, win, lose or draw, you’ll leave Arthur Ashe with the AEW World Title. But let’s not make any bones about it: you show up, I’m gonna try to end your career. Ball’s in your court, Bryan.” (H/T Inside The Ropes)

Match #5: Yuka Sakazaki defeated Serena Deeb by pinfall. Yuka hit the Magical Girl Splash for the win. After the match, May attacked Yuka after the match. Mariah tried to hit Yuka with Storm Zero, but Yuka escaped and hit Mariah with a kick. Yuka held up the AEW Women’s World Championship and tossed it onto May.

There was a video package about The Outrunners doing some training to show off their 1980s-style look and techniques.

Top Flight, Lio Rush and Action Andretti were featured in a segment where Andretti was upset about the group losing recent matches. Andretti said they need to get it together.

Match #6: Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin & Colten Gunn) defeated Cage Of Agony (Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage & Toa Liona) by pinfall. The Gunns hit 3:10 to Yuma on Cage. Juice hit the Juice Is Loose DDT-style move for the win.

Queen Aminata walked past Serena Deeb, who lost earlier in the show, and asked: “Is that how it’s done?” Queen left for her match.

Match #7: Queen Aminata defeated Robyn Renegade by pinfall with a Brain Drain headbutt. It was a short match that went about three minutes. After the match, Serena Deeb attacked Aminata from behind and applied the single leg crab submission.

The House of Black trio were featured in a quick segment daring anybody to challenge them.

Who Won The AEW Collision Main Event?

It was a tag team match in the main event.

Match #8: FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) by submission. Harwood made Drake tap out to the Sharpshooter.

After the match, GYV did a double team attack on FTR. The Outrunners ran out to the ring for the save as the fans popped big for Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum. The Outrunners knocked GYV out of the ring. FTR and The Outrunners shook hands, much to the delight of the fans.

That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading.
