AEW Collision June 22

It was AEW Collision featuring Chris Jericho & Big Bill taking on Private Party, Will Ospreay in action, and more.

This episode was taped on Thursday at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The announcers were Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

Match #1: Samoa Joe, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata defeated Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods & Tony Nese) (w/Mark Sterling) by submission. Shibata won with an armbreaker submission on Nese.

Match #2: The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho & Big Bill) (w/Bryan Keith) defeated Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen). Keith hit Kassidy with a foreign object and Jericho covered for the win.

After the match, The Learning Tree trio attacked Private Party, so Samoa Joe, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata made the save. Samoa Joe made a match challenge for his trio to face off against Jericho’s trio at Forbidden Door.

Match #3: Kazuchika Okada (c) defeated Último Guerrero by pinfall in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match. Okada won with the Rainmaker.

The above match was reportedly a “total mess” according to some people who saw it when it happened. That’s because Guerrero was adjusting his mask a lot during the match.

Dante Martin spoke about wanting to win the TNT Title match at Forbidden Door. Lion Rush is also in the match and said he had Top Flight’s back, but he is going for the TNT Title.

Match #4: The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Killswitch & Nick Wayne) (w/Shayna Wayne) defeated Jacked Jameson & The Iron Savages (Boulder & Bronson) by pinfall. It was under five minutes. Christian hit the Killswitch move to win after being on commentary for most of the match.

A clip was shown of TBS Champion Mercedes Mone going to a show at Arena Mexico where she got into a fight with her Forbidden Door opponent Stephanie Vaquer.

Match #5: Toni Storm & Mariah May (w/Luther) defeated Lady Frost & Leyla Hirsch by pinfall. Storm won with the Storm Zero on Hirsch.

Serena Deeb was featured in a video talking about losing a few matches recently. Deeb said she’ll be at Collision next week and she will have an open challenge.

Match #6: The House of Black (Malakai Black & Brody King) defeated LSG & MSG by pinfall in a two-minute match. King hit Dante’s Inferno for the win.

Match #7: Hechicero (w/Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) defeated Matt Menard by submission. It was another short match. This one got about three minutes. Hechicero did an armbar submission where he used his legs for additional leverage and Menard tapped out.

A video aired about Jeff Jarrett being in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Jarrett was emotional when speaking about his late friend Owen. Jeff & Owen were WWE Tag Team Champions in 1999 just a few months before Owen died in May 1999. Jarrett talked about Owen’s son Oje and daughter Athena and telling them about the great man Owen was. Jarrett spoke about how he is a two-time Hall of Famer, but the Owen Cup means more to him than anything. Jarrett spoke about winning the tournament in Owen’s hometown in Calgary, and he’s absolutely going to do it.

On AEW’s YouTube channel, they posted a nearly 10-minute video of an emotional Jeff Jarrett talking about Owen Hart and what the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament means to him.

Who Won The AEW Collision Main Event?

Match #8: Will Ospreay defeated Brian Cage by pinfall to retain the AEW International Championship. It was the longest match of the show at around 17 minutes. Ospreay only got two after hitting an Oscutter. Ospreay won with the Hidden Blade elbow for the pinfall victory.

Will Ospreay celebrated his victory. That was the end of the show.
