AEW Collision Results – July 13, 2024

AEW Collision July 13

It was AEW Collision featuring Orange Cassidy & Kyle O’Reilly teaming up against Matt Taven & Mike Bennett in the main event.

This episode was taped on Wednesday after Dynamite at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. The announcers were Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

Match #1: Konosuke Takeshita defeated “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington by pinfall. After the match, Don Callis tried to welcome Tommy into the Don Callis Family, but Tommy refused. Takeshita did a cheap attack, so FTR’s Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood made the save.

A video aired about Mariah May winning the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and then turning on Toni Storm after the win.

Match #2: The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & The Gunns) defeated Shawn Moore, Michael Allen Richard Clark & London Lightning by pinfall in about two minutes.

After the match, The Gunns wanted Juice to replace injured Jay White as a Trios Tag Team Champion. However, Christopher Daniels appeared to say that they couldn’t do that and the titles were vacated. Daniels announced a match for The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Killswitch & Nick Wayne) against The Bang Bang Gang. Christian didn’t want to do the match now, so it’s going to happen at a later date.

Match #3: Roderick Strong defeated Dalton Castle by pinfall. Strong’s win means he has earned an ROH World Title shot.

Mark Briscoe, the ROH World Champion, did a promo from his home in Delaware talking about how he knows about Blood & Guts since he’s a farmer so he knows about that stuff as well as chicken s**t.

A video aired about a wrestler named Hologram debuting next week.

Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway did a quick promo about screwing Willow Nightingale in her Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final match.

Match #4: Nyla Rose defeated Ava Lawless by pinfall with a Beast Bomb. It was under two minutes.

Match #5: Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) defeated Lee Moriarty & Anthony Ogogo of Shane Taylor Promotions by pinfall. Shane Taylor tried to cheat to help his team, but Action Andretti took him out and Darius got the win for his team.

Deonna Purrazzo was interviewed about how she wasn’t done with Thunder Rosa. That led to Rosa interrupting and they set up a Lumberjack (Lumberjill?) match for next week.

Nyla Rose accepted an open challenge to face TBS Champion Mercedes Mone on AEW Dynamite 250 this Wednesday.

Match #6: Skye Blue defeated Harley Cameron by submission.

Skye Blue challenged Hikaru Shida for a match next week.

Who Won The AEW Collision Main Event?

It was a tag team match main event that was not for the ROH Tag Team Titles held by Matt Taven & Mike Bennett.

Match #7: The Kingdom – Matt Taven & Mike Bennett defeated Orange Cassidy & Kyle O’Reilly by pinfall. It was a cheap finish because Roderick Strong tried to get involved, but Tomohiro Ishii took him out. That led to Trent Beretta taking Orange out of the ring and throwing him into the barricade. Taven and Bennett hit a double team spike piledriver on O’Reilly for the pinfall win.

After the match, Trent choked Orange on the floor. Trent kicked Kyle in the ribs while The Kingdom saved Kyle saying that’s their friend. Orange got back into it with a wrench to the back of Trent’s head. The Kingdom left while O’Reilly tried to calm Orange down. Ishii clotheslined The Kingdom down. Ishii celebrated with Orange and Kyle.

That attack by Orange was done to write Trent off television since he’s dealing with an injury.

There was a video hyping Will Ospreay defending the AEW International Title against MJF on AEW Dynamite 250 this coming Wednesday. That was the end of the show.

That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading.
