Report: Randy Orton Return Update; Visiting WWE Performance Center Next Week

TJR Wrestling

Former WWE Champion Randy Orton is scheduled to visit the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida next week. He’ll be training in anticipation of being medically cleared to return to WWE television and compete in the squared circle. This is according to PWInsider.com.

Orton suffered a shoulder injury in October 2015 that required surgery. This surgery was Orton’s third operation on the same shoulder. Due to this, his most recent surgery was more extensive than previous years, which is the reason why he’s been on the sidelines longer than usual.

Mark’s reaction:Meltzer mentioned last week that Orton was initially expected back on WWE television already, but Orton’s recovery process took a bit longer this time than it has in previous years. Following PWInsider’s report, it seems like “a bit longer” will only end up being a few weeks longer than expected. He’ll definitely be back in time for SummerSlam and I’m assuming he’ll be appearing on July 19’s Smackdown when the WWE Draft takes place.

It also might be worth mentioning that PWInsider mentioned in the same report that there is belief among some within WWE that Orton may be facing Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. However, they even note that it has not been 100% confirmed; so as of right now it’s just speculation.
