Report: Austin Aries Cleared to Wrestle; Potential WWE WrestleMania Match

Austin Aries is reportedly cleared to wrestle again after suffering an orbital bone break last October during an NXT house show match with Shinsuke Nakamura. This is according to the latest edition of Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Aries has played more of an on-screen role on Raw and 205 Live as of late. He’s been conducting pre-match and post-match interviews with the cruiserweights, a role that was previously done by the likes of Dasha Fuentes, Charlie Caruso and Tom Philips.

This new on-screen role is likely the way he’ll get back into action, as all it takes is one wrong word to be said for a brawl to break out. Meltzer notes that although it is not set in stone, there has been talk of a Neville vs. Aries Cruiserweight Title Match to take place at this year’s WrestleMania. This was teased a bit on this week’s Raw when Aries interviewed Neville and the exchange seemed like it was about to get heated.
