Zelina Vega Breaks Silence After Being Pulled From Queen Of The Ring

Zelina Vega clashes with Elektra Lopez

Zelina Vega is the latest WWE star struck down by injury.

Ahead of a live event on May 12th, it was announced by Adam Pearce that Zelina Vega had been pulled from the Queen of the Ring tournament.

At the WWE live event in Macon, Georgia, Vega had been due to take on Shayna Baszler in a match rescheduled from Raw. Vega became the fourth star to be removed from the King and Queen tournaments after Drew McIntyre, Asuka, and Bobby Lashley were also replaced through injury.

Pearce revealed Maxxine Dupri will take Vega’s place against Baszler with the winner booking a quarter-final clash with Iyo Sky.

Elsewhere at the show in Macon, Rey Mysterio meets Kofi Kingston in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament. The winner of that match will face Gunther in the quarter-finals.

Zelina Vega Sends Support To Maxxine Dupri

Reacting to the news on social media, Vega said she was “heartbroken” before warning Baszler that their rivalry isn’t over.

Heartbroken.. being the first ever, that crown was mi alma y corazón!

That being said, I’m super grateful to have a history making moment in the @WWE history books. The 8yr old me is still super proud.

@QoSBaszler this ain’t over. You can be Queen of Spades, keep them playing cards.. I’ll forever be the first EVER @WWE Queen Of The Ring.

Maxine. You got this, sis. Show them who you are!!

Zelina Vega hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Elektra Lopez on the April 5th episode of SmackDown. There’s no word on the exact nature of the injury.
