WWE’s Scrapped Plans For Men’s WarGames Match Revealed

Triple H WWE

WWE were forced to make major changes for one WarGames match as their original plans have now been revealed.

At Survivor Series, The Vision’s Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul teamed up with Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre to take on a dream team of The Usos, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns.

Despite the amount of talent and experience on the team led by Reigns, they came up short thanks to a mysterious attack. A masked man entered the double-ring cage match to attack CM Punk, leaving Punk at the mercy of Bron Breakker, who nailed the World Heavyweight Champion with a huge spear to pick up the win.

But it seems WWE was forced to make major changes to the match.

WWE Forced To Change WarGames

It has been widely reported that Austin Theory was the mystery attacker, but according to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Theory was originally meant to be a part of the match.

That change was said to be made because of the injury suffered by Jacob Fatu, which forced WWE to bring forward the feud between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, which freed both of them up to be a part of WarGames. Rhodes replaced Fatu on his team, and given the situation, it was felt by WWE that McIntyre made more sense to be in the match than re-introducing Austin Theory.

Theory has not been seen in action on Raw since May, when he lost to Sheamus in a singles bout. Since then, his former tag team partner, Grayson Waller, has formed a new alliance with The New Day.
