WWE’s Real Plans For Rhea Ripley At WrestleMania 41
Rhea Ripley is out in the cold as far as WrestleMania after losing her Women’s World Title but it seems WWE has big plans for the star.
At Elimination Chamber: Toronto, Bianca Belair won the Chamber to earn a Women’s World Title shot while John Cena booked his final WrestleMania place against WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Belair’s opponent was still unknown as Rhea Ripley put her Women’s World Championship on the line against IYO SKY on the March 3 edition of Raw. For months a huge match between Ripley and Belair at WrestleMania had been rumoured but that now won’t be happening.
With Bianca Belair watching from ringside, a distraction from The EST ended up allowing IYO SKY to defeat Rhea Ripley to win the Women’s World Title and become a WWE Grand Slam champion in the process. The shock victory means that IYO SKY vs. Bianca Belair is now scheduled for WrestleMania 41 but it seems that won’t actually be the match that takes place.
Rhea Ripley Set For WWE Title Triple Threat Match
Speaking on the Backstage Pass podcast, WrestleVotes noted that they’ve heard that the match will become a triple threat affair with Rhea Ripley involved:
The anticipation is that match turns into a three-way at WrestleMania. That’s from what I heard today. Fully expecting that match to turn into a triple threat by the time we get to Las Vegas was what I was told. So if the spice isn’t there between Bianca and IYO don’t worry, it’s gonna shape out to be a little bit different.
The other women’s title match set for WrestleMania 41 will see Charlotte Flair challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. Should Flair win she’ll become a 15-time world champion putting her only one reign behind the record currently shared by her father Ric Flair and the treacherous John Cena.
