WWE’s Surprising Backstage Reaction To JoJo Offerman’s AEW Appearance

JoJo Offerman is renowned for her time with WWE.

She appeared in various roles with the company, including as a singer, wrestler, and ring announcer.

She was also in a relationship with Windham Rotunda, who wrestled in WWE under the name Bray Wyatt.

The pair was engaged to be married, but Wyatt died after suffering a heart attack on August 24, 2023, aged 36.

Chief Content Officer Triple H announced Wyatt’s passing on his X account.

Later, WWE also posted a statement, with an extended line reading that all net proceeds from Wyatt’s merch sales would go to JoJo Offerman and the couple’s children.

During the final years of her stint with WWE, JoJo served as the ring announcer before departing in 2021.

She was recently seen during the AEW All In: Texas pay-per-view, where she sang Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” leading to Swerve Strickland’s entrance.

Previously, she returned to ring announcement duties with the Florida-based promotion on January 4, 2025, episode of AEW Collision.

How Did WWE React To JoJo Offerman’s AEW Appearance?

JoJo Offerman’s presence at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, did not sit well with many WWE fans.

Despite that, her relationship with the Stamford promotion remains cordial.

A user recently asked Fightful Select about WWE’s reaction backstage to Offerman’s appearance on AEW.

To this, Sean Ross Sapp gave an insight into her relationship with both promotions.

I mean… that’s not enough to live on, I don’t think, but JoJo, I believe, has a positive relationship with both companies. There were people in WWE that were very, very happy to see that, and were hoping that she would end up getting signed with AEW in some capacity. AEW was very happy with her performance as a ring announcer when they had her come in, and told me they would be using her more.

While this was only her second appearance on AEW, it remains to be seen whether the company offers her a full-time contract anytime soon.
