WWE’s Blockbuster Offer To Chris Jericho Finally Revealed
WWE has reportedly approached Chris Jericho.
Jericho, who is currently signed with AEW, appeared in a TV taping last in April, after dropping his ROH World Championship to Bandido at Dynasty.
During the subsequent Dynamite episode, he was seen lashing out at his ‘The Learning Tree’ stablemates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith, as they did not assist him in reclaiming the title.
In doing so, Jericho revealed that he was leaving for a while, although he did not specify for how long.
His months of disappearance have resulted in fans speculating about his AEW contract.
Earlier in the year, he even liked an Instagram post, stating that he would be open to returning to WWE, sparking discussions about his next stint in the Stamford promotion.
In the meantime, it was also noted that AEW’s creative team did not have any storylines for Chris Jericho, keeping him on the sidelines for a prolonged duration.
Elsewhere, Tony Khan has claimed multiple times that he would like to keep Jericho, whose contract seemingly runs out in December, in his promotion for the foreseeable future.
Chris Jericho’s Potential WWE Return Takes Shape
According to a report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has contacted Chris Jericho and proposed a retirement storyline.
Dave Meltzer wrote the following on the website:
As noted many times, this one is a Jericho decision and all hints are in the WWE direction. I know that WWE has offered him a retirement storyline and those in WWE have said that’s what they’d be interested in. Others expect him to be there early next year but nothing is confirmed.
WWE fans have been eager to see Jericho on the brand once more, owing to his popularity and the ability to reinvent his character upon every return.
While no official statement has been released from either WWE or Chris Jericho, this development has truly generated buzz.
