WWE’s Jacob Fatu Still Owes Charity After No-Show
Jacob Fatu’s checkered past has led to the revelation that the WWE star has still not repaid money to a charity he no-showed in 2023.
Back in the summer of 2023, nonprofit organization Jake’s Network of Hope in Wisconsin had booked Jacob Fatu to appear at an event called Hits for Hope, but Fatu cancelled at the last minute, saying that he had a family emergency to attend to.
A representative for the organization named Jenn Harper spoke to NBC 26 about the situation, saying that the organization completely understood the last-minute change but asked to be reimbursed for the money already spent in booking the star. According to Harper, that’s when communication came to a halt.
In the news report, Harper broke down the amount of money her organization had spent that had not been reimbursed, with the costs totalling $2633 for the following:
- $1030 paid in advance
- $548 hotel booking
- $657 on his initial flight
- $348 on the rescheduled flight
- $50 on posters and photos for autograph sessions
Since then Jacob Fatu has debuted in WWE as Solo Sikoa’s personal enforcer in The Bloodline. With his increased profile, that led to a fan questioning if Fatu had ever repaid the money which prompted a response from the person who initially raised the issue in 2023 who confirmed that as of yet, the money has not been reimbursed:
Hello- I’m the one who originally posted about it. My wife worked for the non profit at the time, Jakes Network of Hope in Appleton/Neenah Wisconsin. No, unfortunately, he did not pay back the charity.
He’s a fantastic in-ring performer, and it sucks that this is all I can think about whenever I’ve seen him since he debuted in WWE.
Jacob Fatu Apologises To Charity
However, there may be a resolution to the saga in the works as an update obtained by The Takedown on SI led to a response from Jake’s Network of Hope director Jenn Harper who claimed the issue Fatu apologised in May but as of yet, the full amount of money has not been repaid:
Jacob Fatu and our organization are addressing this matter privately, beginning with a phone call and heartfelt apology back in May. While the full amount owed hasn’t yet been repaid, we appreciated Jacob’s acknowledgment. It can be tough to face up to your wrongdoings, and we commend him for taking steps toward confronting his.
Jacob Fatu won big at WWE Crown Jewel when Solo Sikoa shockingly pinned Roman Reigns as The Bloodline defeated the OTC and The Usos.
