WWE’s AJ Styles Boldly Responds To Stealing Accusations
After the latest WWE RAW episode, AJ Styles was accused by fans of stealing a move from other wrestlers.
On December 1, Styles and Dragon Lee defended their tag team titles against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day.
For months, the faction has been trying to secure a title match since losing it on June 30 to The Judgment Day.
During the October 20 episode of the red brand, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh lost the titles to Styles and Lee.
In the closing minutes, Styles hung Kingston on the top rope, following which Lee climbed the turnbuckles and stomped on his opponent, resulting in a slingshot-style move that saw Kingston fly back to Styles, who caught him and hit Styles Clash for the finish.
AJ Styles Responds To Move Stealing Accusations
Some wrestling fans took to X to compare AJ Styles’ move, which looked similar to the one by The Young Bucks in AEW, only the latter would hit a powerbomb.
After coming across the tweets, Styles chose to respond instead of letting accusations of stealing a move slide.
Styles replied to a user who compared both moves in their post while tagging the 48-year-old and his tag team partner.
In Prowrestling you can’t claim moves. They may be your signature, but those are still open to the public. Any confident wrestler wouldn’t ever change that. Calm down guys.
Another user pointed out Styles’ quote about “claiming” a move, to which he had another response.
But if we do it again, is that borrowing or stealing? The answer is….neither. The job is entertainment. https://t.co/c2rqSGY2PE

The Phenomenal One did his best to keep his explanation to the point, which was about wrestling being entertainment, while maintaining his stand that he did not steal any moves from anybody.
