WWE Could Take WrestleMania 42 International After New Orleans Plans Dropped
WWE WrestleMania 42 won’t be held in New Orleans.
On May 22, a bombshell report claimed that WrestleMania 42 will no longer be held in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2026.
This is despite The Rock announcing the Ceasars Superdome in the city as the host venue on the February 21 edition of SmackDown. The event was scheduled to take place on April 11 and April 12, but those plans now appear to be a thing of the past.
While a new host city for WrestleMania is yet to be announced, a statement from The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation confirmed that New Orleans will now be home to the 2026 edition of Money In The Bank, with the promise of a different WrestleMania in the future.
WWE Makes Major WrestleMania Change
With speculation running wild, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now claimed that WrestleMania 42 could be held at an international location. However, a specific city wasn’t mentioned.
While this has caused some fans to wonder whether the showpiece event will finally be heading to the United Kingdom, others believe Saudi Arabia could be about to step in. The kingdom is already set to host the Royal Rumble in 2026, taking it outside of North America for the first time in its history.
In April, a new government report reiterated that Mayor of London Sadiq Khan remains determined to bring WrestleMania to the English capital. Triple H and Nick Khan met with the Mayor for face-to-face talks in July 2024, but it seems no firm agreement was reached, or at least made public.
