WWE World Title Internally Made For Bad Blood
Gunther is set for a big challenge at Bad Blood as despite his World Heavyweight Title match not yet being confirmed, it’s on WWE’s list for the show.
Following his win at Bash In Berlin, CM Punk set his sights on Gunther and the title but it looks like any showdown between those two men will have to wait as Drew McIntyre viciously took out Punk with the feud between them looking set to continue into Bad Blood.
That left the door open for another challenger to emerge and Gunther was soon confronted by the man who defeated him for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 40, Sami Zayn.
The Ring General has refused Zayn’s challenge thus far and continued to shy away from Zayn following a fight after Gunther trolled Bret Hart in his hometown of Calgary. However, it seems the match is going to happen.
Gunther Facing Sami Zayn At WWE Bad Blood
Writing in his Daily Update, Dave Meltzer noted that Gunther vs. Sami Zayn for the World Heavyweight Championship is on WWE’s internal line-up for Bad Blood on October 5th:
Gunther vs. Sami Zayn is listed on the internal lineup for a WWE title match at Bad Blood on 10/5, so I guess it’s a six-match show and not a five-match show with the Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu, Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk Hell in a Cell, a teased Nia Jax tag match (depending on next week’s Smackdown tag match result), Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley for the women’s title and Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor.
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are putting their own issues behind them to face The Bloodline after Solo Sikoa’s group attempted to get the best of both men on SmackDown.
Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton are set to face Bayley and Naomi in a tag team bout where whoever out of Bayley and Naomi gets the win will claim a WWE Women’s Title shot against Jax. However, should Bayley and Naomi lose there will be major implications for them.
