6-Time WWE World Champion Admits Retirement Is Getting Closer
One generation of WWE wrestlers is quietly making their way towards retirement.
While they won’t retire quietly, the beginning of the end is steadily approaching without making a lot of noise.
WWE fans have already witnessed John Cena’s retirement, and soon stars such as Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will hang up their boots as well.
Seth Rollins has opened up about his WWE retirement
Recently, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins appeared on The Ross Tucker Podcast. The Visionary was asked about his retirement.
The former World Heavyweight Champion claimed that he is not retiring anytime soon and has quite a few years left in the tank. However, he is now closer to the end than he was to the beginning. Nevertheless, his last match is still far away.
I got a lot more years left in the tank, so I’m not sure that I’m there just yet. But, I mean, I think often about, I guess, the mortality of my career because, you know, I started when I was 17, 18, and now I’m nearly 40 and I’m certainly not going till I’m 60. So, I’m almost, you know, closer to the end than the beginning.
I think about, I suppose, like the mortality, the fact that it’s winding down and maybe there’s like some urgency to do some things that I haven’t done or contribute in a different way. But my last match, my last moment—that’s… I feel so far away that I haven’t quite got there yet. [H/t: Ringside News]
Currently, Seth Rollins is off WWE TV owing to an injury he suffered at Crown Jewel during his match against Cody Rhodes. He is supposed to return ahead of WrestleMania 42 in April 2026.
