WWE World Champion Gunther Warns Goldberg
Gunther has issued strong words of warning to WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg.
The legendary former WCW Champion recently revealed that he would compete in one final WWE bout in the coming months, with speculation suggesting that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther could be the man in line to face Goldberg in his last in-ring outing.
The pair almost came to blows after Gunther had riled up the 57 year-old, who was sitting ringside with his family at WWE Bad Blood on 5th October. A furious Goldberg ultimately had to be held back by security as WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H watched on.
Gunther, however, seems unconcerned by a potential return for the veteran former NFL star, telling WWE WWE La Previa that he would welcome the opportunity to teach Goldberg a lesson:
“I was invited out there to speak about the Crown Jewel Championship, and we had a lot of legends in the house, and I met a lot of them backstage. One of the very few I didn’t meet that I just saw was there before was Goldberg, so when our eyes crossed, basically I was like, why not break some balls a little bit?
[What] I’ve done [to] him, he doesn’t seem to be able to take things lightly. I tried to lighten up the mood a little bit, but it’s…if push comes to shove, and he thinks he wants to get back into the business and wrestle again, then I’m happy to teach him a lesson.”
Gunther Suffers Rare Defeat At Crown Jewel
‘The Ring General’ has proven a dominant force in WWE since making his main roster debut in April 2022, including a record-breaking 666 day reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion and being crowed the 2024 King Of The Ring.
At Crown Jewel, however, the Austrian suffered just his second pinfall loss in WWE as he battled Cody Rhodes in a bout for the inaugural WWE Men’s Crown Jewel Championship.
