WWE Working With HBO And Bill Simmons On Andre the Giant Documentary
World Wrestling Entertainment and HBO Sports confirmed today that they, along with the Bill Simmons Media Group, will produce a documentary on WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant.
WWE.com stated that the documentary “will explore Andre’s upbringing in France, his celebrated career in WWE and his forays in the entertainment world.”
WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon had the following to say on the news that an Andre the Giant HBO documentary is happening.
“For more than 20 years, Andre the Giant’s larger than life personality and unique charisma captured the imagination of fans around the world. I will always value our friendship, and I am proud to tell the story of the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World.'”
Admired sportswriter, on-air commentator and podcaster Bill Simmons joined HBO during the summer of 2015. Simmons tweeted the following about getting to work on this documentary.

A planned release date for the documentary has yet to be announced.
