WWE Allegedly Won’t Turn Cody Rhodes Heel For Major Reason

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has shown signs of turning heel, but analysts and experts are still unsure if WWE will move forward with that.

The American Nightmare is currently one of WWE’s top babyfaces. If he were to turn heel, a stronger babyface would need to emerge.

One such superstar who has the potential to surpass Rhodes as a babyface is Roman Reigns. However, OTC1 has continued to maintain his stoic character despite being a babyface.

Former WWE writer explains why WWE will not turn Cody Rhodes heel

On an episode of Wrestling with Freddie, Freddie Prinze Jr. explained that WWE will continue to have The American Nightmare as a babyface, and keep him clean.

When I worked there, we pitched a John Cena heel turn every four months and it was never going to happen. And so, I think I am conditioned to say, ‘well, if you’re the face of it, you don’t turn’, right? Because John Cena never turned until he left and did this little run here. And early in his career, before he was John Cena, when he was like, ‘GO! I’m John Cena’. Then, he was king of heel-ish. But Cody? I think, is face. You can’t, I think, from the corporate perspective in a publicly traded company, that you keep him clean as a whistle.

You are just toughening Cody up when you do moments like this. Cause, he is not like biggest dude, right? So, it makes him look tough to beat some ass once in a while. Sometimes, I think he can lose it in traffic and give a guy the finger out of his Lamborghini or whatever sweet a** car Cody Rhodes drives. So, I don’t know man. I am not on that boat yet. I think Cody is still going to be the face, and I think, the whole reason John did this was to get to be a heel, just to have fun.

Not only has Rhodes showcased heel-ish traits, but he may have dropped hints of being in cahoots with The Rock as well!
