Former WWE Champion Allegedly Won’t Ever Return After Burning Bridges
Ex-WWE United States Champion Matt Riddle recently made controversial remarks about CM Punk and his wife, AJ Lee.
In an interview on TMZ’s “Inside The Ring” podcast, Riddle called CM Punk a “bit*h” and accused him of being a “creep.” He also challenged Punk to fight him in a bare-knuckle or MMA match.
Well, let’s be honest. Did I lie? CM Punk’s a b*tch. He can’t beat me if he wants to step up. He can meet me in a bare-knuckle boxing fight. He can meet me in an MMA cage, whatever, dude….I have no ill will towards CM Punk. I bet he’s a nice enough guy if you agree with him, but I don’t, you know, and I think he’s fake, and I think he’s a creep. And that’s coming from me. And people think I’m a creep. I haven’t done anything wrong.
Also, The Original Bro said he had no issues with AJ Lee, but mentioned she “got around” during her WWE run.
AJ, you know, I have no problems with her. She never stepped into it. I mean, to be fair, and I’m not one to talk – I’m a little f*cked up myself – but she did go get around from what I heard. But no disrespect to that. Hey, it’s whatever. People like to hook up, people like to hook up. And if that’s the worst thing he did, whatever, dude. I’ve done it too. But yeah, no ill will towards anybody else.
WWE Legend Booker T Comments on Matt Riddle’s Controversial Remarks About CM Punk and AJ Lee
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T criticized Matt Riddle’s nasty remarks about Punk and Lee. He added it is highly unlikely that WWE will ever call him back after he insulted two of the company’s biggest stars like that.
I never had any beef with Matt Riddle or anything like that. But I did say I did not think this guy was going to make it in this business, I didn’t think he was going to make it to [World] Heavyweight Championship level, just because of certain things. (…) I just didn’t think Matt Riddle respected the business enough to make it to the next level.
I do believe that Matt Riddle is going to be one of those guys that will never, ever make it to that high ever again, just because the guy just, I don’t know. It’s one thing burning bridges, but when you just blow up the damn bridge, that’s another story. I just don’t think this guy did himself any favors over the weekend, speaking the way he is.
