WWE Won’t Confirm Star’s Contract Status As Exit Rumours Grow
Frustration has summed up life in WWE recently for one tag team as questions about their future in the company continue to grow.
For years, Montez Ford has been linked with a split from Angelo Dawkins and a singles run all the way to the main event. However, the pair remain together, now with B-Fab in tow, looking to end a drought of almost four years without the tag team titles.
On the November 15th episode of SmackDown, the Street Profits will challenge the Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Titles, but it seems there’s something bigger on the line.
Montez Ford explained his frustration and claimed it’s “win or bust” for the Profits leading many to wonder if the team will be heading for a split if they fail to defeat MCMG for the gold.
Could Street Profits Be On Their Way Out Of WWE?
Now it seems that frustration has been heard by other WWE talents as indicated in a new report from Fightful Select – however, it was unclear if the message had been part of a work to build up their impending title match.
The report noted that neither WWE nor the Street Profits had provided concrete answers on the team’s contract status. Both Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins signed multi-year deals in 2019 but there was no certainty on how long those contracts lasted. Ford was asked about his future in wrestling and only gave the very non-committal answer of “still thinking about it.”
The Street Profits were aligned with Bobby Lashley as The Pride on WWE TV earlier in 2024 and it seems that there is at least a chance that they could follow Lashley to AEW at some point.
