WWE Wields Axe On The Roster Once Again
WWE has made cuts to its roster once again with several stars being told they are getting released or their contracts not renewed, including one who featured in the Royal Rumble.
Baron Corbin was the biggest name WWE let go in the last round of cuts towards the end of 2024. But now, in the WrestleMania season for the company, the roster has been reduced once again.
Sonya Deville was the 13th entry in the women’s Royal Rumble but now Fightful has reported that WWE has told the star they will not be renewing her contract. Her current deal is said to end in a matter of weeks.
AOP Released By WWE For The Second Time
Deville will not be the only one leaving WWE as Blair Davenport, Cedric Alexander, Akam, Rezar, and Paul Ellering have all been released from their deals. The cuts are said to have begun as SmackDown was beginning on February 5.
These releases will mean changes to two factions as PFC will now consist of just Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark with Deville’s impending exit. The Final Testament has lost over half its members and leaves Karrion Kross and Scarlett to carry on.
All eyes will surely be on Cedric Alexander when his likely 90 non-compete clause ends as the three other members of his previous group, The Hurt Business, are now in AEW as The Hurt Syndicate. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship from Private Party on the January 22 edition of Dynamite.
