WWE: Why Triple H Could’ve Gone To Prison For 80 Years

Triple H WWE

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H could have been imprisoned for decades in a wild and unexpected scenario due to serious criminal charges.

In 1999, Stephanie McMahon was in a romantic WWE storyline with Test. The on-screen couple got engaged and even organized their wedding. However, Triple H crashed the ceremony to reveal that he had already married The Billion Dollar Princess in Las Vegas.

The Game played a video where Stephanie was drugged as he forged a marriage license and impersonated her to finalize the marriage. The storyline led to a match between Triple H and Vince McMahon at Armageddon, with the stipulation that if the former chairman won, the marriage would be annulled. Meanwhile, if The Cerebral Assassin went over, he would get a WWE Championship shot.

Triple H Committed Multiple Civil & Criminal Offences In The WWE Storyline

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, former WWE star and licensed lawyer David Otunga addressed the legality of the historic storyline. He pointed out that Triple H could have faced several civil charges for marrying an intoxicated Stephanie McMahon, including intentional infliction of emotional distress, unjust enrichment, and defamation of character.

The Harvard Law School graduate also disclosed that The Game committed multiple criminal offences in that storyline, including kidnapping & false imprisonment, assault & battery, and fraud. Otunga also claimed the former WWE Champion, DX, and bartender Gene, who helped drug Stephanie, could have all faced conspiracy (RICO) charges.

The former Nexus member clarified that if it were not a storyline, Triple H could have gone to prison for 40-80 years.

So, if we look at this thing in its entirety and we add up all the potential state charges, federal charges, felony charges, Triple H could be looking at between 40 and 80 years in prison. So, it’s a good thing that this is just in the kayfabe world storyline-wise. If Triple H were looking between 40 and 80 years, I can tell you one thing right now. He would not be running WWE Creative. In fact, he should be running to David Otunga, Attorney at Raw, to get him out of this. [9:26 onwards]
