WWE Warned Against Crowning New Women’s Champion Before Clash In Paris

Naomi WWE

WWE has been warned off the idea of crowning a new Women’s World Champion before Clash In Paris.

Naomi is no longer Women’s World Champion after she relinquished the title on the August 18th edition of Raw after announcing her pregnancy to the world.

There is no word on how WWE will determine a new champion, but Stephanie Vaquer was scheduled to challenge for the gold at Clash In Paris after she won that right in a battle royal at Evolution.

WWE Should Hold Off On Crowning New Champion

Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, WWE broadcaster Sam Roberts explained why he thinks it would be a mistake for the company to crown a new champion before Clash In Paris takes place:

I don’t need a new champion crowned before Clash In Paris because then it’s almost like are you really gonna give somebody the championship for five days and then Stephanie Vaquer is gonna win it? It kind of spoils that a little bit to me.

I think that you have a qualifier on Raw to find a one-on-one opponent for Stephanie Vaquer.

Roberts suggested a triple threat match to take place on Raw featuring Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and Roxanne Perez, with the winner then moving on to face Vaquer for the vacant title in Paris.

Naomi shocked the world when she won the title as she cashed in her Money In The Bank contract at Evolution to turn IYO SKY’s Women’s World Title defence against Rhea Ripley into a triple threat match.
