Ex-WWE Star Says Vince McMahon “Had It In For The Catholic Church”

Apparently, when Vince McMahon did a promo in a church and said to God, “I don’t like you and you don’t like me”, he wasn’t kidding.

Vince McMahon has always shown a larger-than-life personality on-screen. That personality was a mix of theatricality for entertainment’s sake plus some of the real Vince’s emotions and attitudes.

McMahon was said to have developed an ego over the decades, which manifested itself in Vince mocking everyone in power around him, including God Himself.

As it turns out, Vince McMahon’s diatribe on God stems from his very real disdain for the Catholic Church, according to Bubba Ray Dudley, who spoke to Chris Van Vliet on the subject.

According to Bubba, Vince’s animus towards the Church stemmed from how religious groups in particular tended to picket WWE events, which Vince found hypocritical given the Church’s own internal scandals going on at the same time.

“There was talks about Vince having a hard on, no pun intended, maybe I shouldn’t use that phrase what I’m about to say. But he had it in for the Catholic Church. Because remember, at that time, we had people picketing, protesting us.

And this and that and being hypocritical, especially people from the church. But meanwhile, this was at the time when the church was having controversy within his own home, with the priests, with little boys and things like that.

So there was always an issue when people are being hypocritical, especially back in during that time, we’re doing what we’re doing, but yet they’re doing what they’re doing and getting away with it for so many years.”
