WWE Veteran Set For “Sustained Push” In 2025
WWE is set to celebrate the career of a former World Champion.
After spending much of 2024 in a supporting role in Judgment Day behind the likes of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor is back in the hunt for singles gold.
The Irish star is set to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th, after taking matters into his own hands.
Balor attacked Priest at Survivor Series during his match with the Austrian star but ended up getting flattened by a huge kick from Gunther for his troubles. On the following episode of Raw, Balor said he deserved a title shot after helping Gunther to another win, but instead, the champion squared off with Dominik Mysterio later in the show.
After Gunther grabbed the win, Balor attacked yet again, before seeking out Adam Pearce to ask for a title match. But Pearce explained Gunther had already agreed to the bout.
WWE Making Plans For Finn Balor
In a new report on WrestleVotes Radio via SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, it was noted that Balor’s match with Gunther wouldn’t be the end of his recent rise back into the main event picture. The company is set to highlight his decade with the company while keeping him in a prominent position.
“The first thing that we’re hearing this week is about Finn Balor. Finn Balor is in line for a renewed singles push as we get into 2025. Along with the renewed singles push, expect a 10-year anniversary celebration, not like the New Day.
However, they’re going to mention Finn’s 10 years, including some brand new merchandise that will celebrate all of the various aspects that we’ve seen Finn Balor throughout his career in WWE and a bunch of social media promotion.”
In a further post on social media, Wrestle Votes added that Balor is heading for a “sustained push” over the coming months.
As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Finn Balor in WWE, sources tell us he’s solidified himself as a true locker room leader over the past year or so. In addition, we are told to expect a sustained singles push for Finn as we head into 2025.
After founding Bullet Club in NJPW and enjoying an incredibly successful run in Japan, Finn Balor signed with WWE in May 2014 before being officially unveiled two months later. Over the next ten years, the star has won just about every title there is to win with the company, including two NXT Title wins and being crowned the first-ever Universal Champion.
