Charles Robinson, a veteran WWE referee, has been a significant part of the wrestling industry for over two decades.

His career began in the mid-1990s as a photographer before he transitioned to refereeing in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1997. Robinson gained fame as “Little Naitch,” a nod to Ric Flair’s nickname “The Nature Boy,” due to his resemblance and mimicry of Flair’s style.

He has officiated numerous high-profile matches and has been a mainstay in WWE since WCW was acquired by WWF in 2001. Over the years, Robinson has become one of WWE’s most respected senior referees, particularly on the SmackDown brand, with a legacy marked by professionalism and memorable storylines inside the squared circle.

WWE’s Charles Robinson Hospitalized After Bat Bite

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Charles Robinson shared a startling incident on social media. At around 2:00 a.m., he was bitten by a bat inside his home, prompting an emergency visit to the hospital. Robinson posted photos and videos of himself receiving treatment, including six shots, likely rabies vaccinations.

He captioned the post, “Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat. That’s right, a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots. #animalattacks #hospital”

This recent incident adds to a tough few weeks for Robinson, who was legitimately injured at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event XL held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 12, 2025. During Goldberg’s retirement match against Gunther, Goldberg accidentally speared Robinson. The impact caused Robinson to suffer a cracked rib, a serious injury for any official.

Despite the injury, Robinson took to Instagram to assure fans that he was fine and planned to return for WWE SmackDown in the following weekly events. Goldberg later publicly apologized for the accident on The Ariel Helwani Show, acknowledging their long history and expressing regret for Robinson’s injury. Robinson and Goldberg share respect built over years of working together in WCW and WWE, underscoring the camaraderie behind the scenes despite the on-screen intensity.

We at TJR Wrestling wish him a speedy recovery from the bat bite incident.
