WWE Veteran Admits Faking Injury & Blaming Goldberg

Goldberg WWE

Goldberg took the blame after one long-time WWE talent faked an injury in the ring.

Goldberg had the final match of his career in July 2025 at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther retained his title in the bout, and WWE cut the feed after the match when Goldberg was giving a farewell address to fans.

That all meant that Goldberg was less than complimentary about his last outing in WWE and has not held back on his thoughts about his somewhat understated exit.

During the match with Gunther, Goldberg ended up catching referee Charles Robinson with one of his vicious Spears. After the bout, Robinson took to social media to share an X-ray indicating that he had suffered a broken rib as a result of the move.

But Charles Robinson was lying.

Goldberg Okay With Fake Injury

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Robinson revealed that he hadn’t suffered a broken rib but wanted to help sell the move, something that led to outrage towards Goldberg for hurting the referee. Robinson explained:

My girlfriend and I were in the movie. I said, ‘What can I do to put this over to make Goldberg feel good?’ I said, ‘Hmm, there’s an image of a broken rib online, so I just posted that.’ People were so mad at him for that.

I called him to tell him what I was doing, and he goes, ‘That’s a great idea.’ So he didn’t mind. I was sore, seriously, for about 10 days, you know, coughing and stuff. They can’t do anything about a rib anyway, so why go get it checked?
