A WWE veteran is contemplating a return after 14 years away.

Todd Grisham debuted in 2004 as a play-by-play commentator alongside the likes of John Mathews, Jonathan Coachman, and others, calling matches for the next four years.

He was often featured on RAW as an interviewer backstage while also hosting the catch-up program Bottom Line.

Grisham subsequently took on the role of a commentator on ECW between 2008 and 2009 alongside Tazz.

After winning the Slammy Award for his commentary duties in 2008, he was promoted to SmackDown the following year before replacing Michael Cole in NXT in 2010.

His last appearance was on WWE SmackDown during the August 26, 2011, episode, after which he joined ESPN.

Todd Grisham Open To WWE Return

Todd Grisham was the guest on a recent episode of Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, where he discussed his journey with WWE.

When the host asked if he would like to return to the Stamford promotion, Grisham replied positively.

I want to. I’m one of the few people who left on my own terms — and left on a good note.

He explained how Jonathan Coachman helped him land a job at ESPN and revealed Triple H’s encouraging words when he left.

They brought Jonathan Coachman back — he was working at ESPN at the time — so I asked him, ‘Hey man, can you get me an audition at ESPN?’ With about three months left on my deal, he got me an audition. Thank God they gave me a position.

So I went to Kevin Dunn near the end of my contract and asked if they’d let me out early — and he said yes. Then Triple H came up to me and said, ‘Thanks for all the years you’ve been here. Anytime you want to come back, let me know. Great job.’ [H/T: Ringside News]
