WWE Unveil Brackets For New Women’s Title Tournament
The tournament to crown a new women’s champion in WWE has got underway on SmackDown as the full brackets have now been revealed.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis unveiled the new WWE Women’s United States Championship on the 8th of November edition of SmackDown. Aldis noted that the title would be earned and not given but it remains to be seen how the inaugural champion will be decided. The commentary team noted that women from both Raw and SmackDown will be able to compete for the gold indicating that a counterpart Women’s Intercontinental Title might not be on the way.
The new title will be the fifth on the WWE main roster for the company’s women to compete for in addition to the WWE Women’s, Women’s World, Women’s Speed, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. And on the 15th of November of SmackDown, the tournament to crown the first champion got underway.
12 Women Compete For New WWE Women’s US Title
The tournament will see four triple threat matches in the quarter-finals with Bayley defeating B-Fab and Candice LeRae to become the first star in the semi-finals. She will face the winner of the bout between Chelsea Green, Bianca Belair, and Blair Davenport.
The other half of the draw sees Piper Niven, Michin, and Jade Cargill face off while Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, and Elektra Lopez round out the draw.

The final of the tournament will take place on Saturday Night’s Main Event which will be held on the 14th of December.
