WWE Reveal Unseen Footage Of John Cena After SummerSlam

WWE has released some footage of what John Cena did after SummerSlam ended on one of the toughest nights of his illustrious career.

John Cena’s time is almost up in WWE. In December 2025, Cena will wrestle his final match as a WWE Superstar, bringing the curtain down on a legendary career.

Cena had turned heel back at Elimination Chamber, but at Cody Rhodes’ request, and perhaps realising that The Rock and Travis Scott did not have his back, Cena reverted to his old self in time for his WWE Title defence against The American Nightmare at SummerSlam.

However, John Cena might have wished he hadn’t bothered.

John Cena Attacked After WWE Title Loss

Cody Rhodes reclaimed the WWE Championship from Cena after a hard-hitting street fight. But Cena’s night was not done. As he stood to take the adulation of the fans, Brock Lesnar made his shock return to WWE, taking out John Cena just as he did in his return 13 years ago.

Triple H has suggested Cena was behind Lesnar’s return to the company; however, serious doubts have been cast over that claim.

Now WWE has released footage of what happened when the Netflix stream ended, showing Cena leaving the ring looking extremely dejected. Cena asked for his music to be turned off so he could hear the fans in MetLife Stadium giving him one last richly deserved SummerSlam ovation.
