WWE Stars Unhappy With Triple H’s WrestleMania Plans
With Triple H taking charge of WrestleMania for the first time this year, it has been noted that some WWE stars are not happy with his plans for the show.
Triple H took charge of WWE creative in July 2022 following the retirement of Vince McMahon. Although McMahon’s absence from the company proved to be short-lived, The Game is still the man leading creative heading into WrestleMania 39.
A new report on the two-night event suggests that Triple H is planning to have a smaller card that in years gone by and WrestlingNews.co has noted that some talent they spoke to were not happy about not being involved in the show and also there was said to be some unhappiness over slots being reserved for legends and celebrity involvement. It should also be noted that the report adds that there are no plans to have a battle royal, which was a way to feature undercard talent on the show in the past.
At WrestleMania 38 in 2022 there were sixteen matches on the card spread over two nights. The final WrestleMania held on just one night occurred in 2019 and saw the same number of matches – including pre-show bouts – take place on a show that lasted seven hours.
So far for WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, CA just three matches have been confirmed with Cody Rhodes challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Rhea Ripley facing Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title, and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair putting her gold on the line against Asuka.
