WWE Turned Down Two Violent Pitches For Jade Cargill Vs Naomi

Two pitches for Naomi and Jade Cargill were rejected over safety concerns.

After spending several months out of action, Jade Cargill returned at Elimination Chamber and immediately went after Naomi. In the subsequent days, it was revealed that Naomi had been the one to take Cargill out back in November.

This set into motion a bitter rivalry that saw the pair meet at WrestleMania 41 and then again at Evolution. At the special all-women’s event, the match was upgraded to No Holds Barred with Bianca Belair serving as the special guest referee.

At Evolution, as had been the case at WrestleMania, Cargill emerged victorious.

In a new interview with Alistair McGeorge for The Metro, Cargill reflected on the match at Evolution, revealing some of the pitches from the pair that were turned down.

“There was so much we wanted to use that was asked. We wanted to use mace, that was going to be tough, and then we wanted to use razors, and that was going to be tough, but I welcome it!

I wish we were able to use the mace. [But] we gotta think about the crowd, we don’t want anybody in the crowd to be maced, because mace goes so far. That would’ve been wild! The whole first front row would have been lit with mace!”

Jade Cargill Surprised By WWE Evolution

Speaking elsewhere, Jade Cargill surprisingly admitted that she was surprised at how much of a success Evolution turned out to be.

The star said that she and others backstage didn’t think so many fans would turn up, adding that “the storylines weren’t really there.” She added that she hopes WWE makes Evolution an annual event in the coming years.

Cargill is yet to return to the ring following a defeat to Tiffany Stratton at SummerSlam. That match represented the first time that the former AEW star had challenged for a singles championship in WWE.

Despite her defeat to Cargill, Naomi ended the night at Evolution as the Women’s World Champion. The star cashed in her Money In The Bank contract during the main event to stun Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley.
