WWE Pays Tribute To Former Tag Team Champion Mo From Men On A Mission
The WWE website has shared a touching message about the death of Mo from Men on a Mission.
During the early to mid-1990s, one of the most popular tag teams in WWE was called Men on a Mission. They were comprised of the 400+ pounder Mabel and a man named Mo. They were also joined by a guy named Oscar, who would rap on the way to the ring.
Fans liked Men on a Mission because they were smiling babyfaces who acted cool and played to the crowd. Eventually, Mabel turned heel, won King of the Ring in 1995, and Mo supported him as “Sir Mo” as the duo showed off a different side.
Sadly, Mo passed away at the age of 58 due to a severe blood infection and pneumonia that had left him in the ICU in recent weeks. His real name was Bobby Horn,e and he was from North Carolina.
WWE And Matt Hardy Share Their Condolences About Mo’s Death
In a tribute to Mo, WWE wrote this about the former member of Men on a Mission.
WWE is saddened to learn that Bobby “Mo” Horne has passed away.
Horne entertained fans as the fun-loving Mo across a number of his promotions throughout his career. Alongside Mabel and manager Oscar, the trio formed one of the most popular groups of the mid-90s, Men on a Mission.
Mo and Mabel captured the WWE Tag Team Championship from The Quebecers in 1994 for their crowning moment as a team. After Mabel won King of the Ring in 1995, he crowned Mo as “Sir Mo,” and the duo continued to compete in WWE.
Horne would go on to share his gift in the ring for another two decades, as he was part of the original Nation of Domination in USWA and won the PPW Tag Team Title alongside Deon Harlem.
WWE extends its condolences to Horne’s family, friends and fans.
Matt Hardy is a current TNA and WWE NXT Tag Team Champion who is also from North Carolina, like Mo. Writing on X, Matt spoke about how Mo helped out the Hardys early in their careers and stayed in contact ever since.
Mo had a history of wrestling in NC indies. After meeting him at WWE, he actually did us a big favor & appeared at an OMEGA show. Mo stayed in contact with me ever since, being very proud of our success. Godspeed, Bobby. My thoughts go out to his family, friends & fans.
