WWE: Tommaso Ciampa Injury Update; Torn ACL & Scheduled for Surgery This Week
NXT Superstar Tommaso Ciampa is scheduled to have surgery this week in Birmingham, Alabama to repair his torn ACL. This is according to PWInsider.
Although a time table has not been announced for his recovery and in-ring return, but a torn ACL typically means that a wrestler will be out of action for seven to ten months.
Ciampa initially injured himself at an NXT live event the Thursday prior to NXT Takeover: Chicago. Ciampa wrestled through the injury at NXT Takeover: Chicago in a Ladder Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship, which hurt himself even more.
At the end of NXT Takeover: Chicago, Ciampa turned on his tag team partner Johnny Gargano and it is believed that when returning, Ciampa will get a major heel push as the most dangerous wrestler in professional wrestling.
