WWE To Crown New Champion On Raw

Triple H WWE Raw

WWE Raw will be arriving on Netflix in style.

After it was announced that a Women’s United States Title would be introduced on SmackDown, it was confirmed a new Women’s Intercontinental Title would be coming to Raw.

The winner of the United States Title will be decided on December 14th at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with the semi-finals taking place on SmackDown 24 hours earlier.

However, there’s been no word on when the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion will crowned — until now.

According to a report on Wrestle Votes Radio via SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, the finals of the tournament which is currently underway, will take place on Raw’s premiere on Netflix on January 6th, 2025.

At present, Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria have advanced to the semi-finals.

“Sources state the WWE is currently planning on having the finals of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament take place on the Raw Netflix debut show, we’re told. WWE will look to have at least three advertised matches for that show, with one of them being for this Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The semifinals will take place in Houston the week before, with the finals in Los Angeles.”

WWE Veteran To Become New Champion?

The claims come after it was reported that several backstage figures are pushing for Natalya to win the tournament and become the first champion. The report added that this doesn’t necessarily mean she will be the winner, but there are people pushing for that result.

The star is yet to enter the tournament but will face Alba Fyre and Kairi Sane in the first round. The winner of that bout will meet Lyra Valkyria in the semi-finals.

Natalya hasn’t held singles gold since 2017, and her last title win came in 2021 when she teamed with Tamina to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
