WWE & TNA Relationship Too One Sided Says Hall Of Famer
One WWE Hall of Famer believes the company’s relationship with TNA doesn’t have enough give and take.
Back in January, WWE and TNA officially announced a multi-year partnership with the aim of “creating unprecedented crossover opportunities.” Since then, multiple NXT and TNA stars have jumped between the two companies.
The biggest crossover to date came on April 20th when TNA World Champion Joe Hendry took on Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. Although Hendry was defeated in a little over three minutes by The Viper, he and TNA were happy with the bout as it got more eyes on the promotion’s World Champion.
However, there are still many who think the partnership has benefited WWE a lot more than TNA. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry said he hoped to see TNA gain more from the crossovers, particularly when it comes to wins and losses.
“I think that TNA needs to get more and I think that can happen. You see a match with Moose and Oba Femi, it’s going to be Oba Femi. You see a match with Joe Hendry, he’s the only one that’s getting the love. It’s got to go back and forth, ‘you win one, I win one, let’s have the rubber match.'”
Joe Hendry Attacked By WWE Star At TNA Rebellion
The crossovers continued at Rebellion when Joe Hendry was assaulted by NXT’s Trick Williams. The two-time NXT Champion attacked Hendry at the end of the night, after the star successfully retained the TNA World Title against Ethan Page and Frankie Kazarian.
Hendry appeared on NXT TV days later to call out Williams, but the star was instead left lying in the ring by Darkstate.
