WWE Title Loss Legitimate Surprise To Many In The Company

A recent title loss in WWE left many in the company legitimately shocked.

Chelsea Green will forever be the first WWE Women’s US Champion after winning the title back in December 2024. Green embraced the role and acted as an ambassador for the US despite herself being Canadian. Piper Niven and Alba Fyre formed Green’s own Secret Her-vice to assist her where needed, but everything fell apart for Green on SmackDown in Fort Worth.

Chelsea Green put her WWE Women’s US Title on the line against Zelina Vega, a woman who had defeated Green twice before WrestleMania. Vega made it third time lucky on SmackDown as she pinned Green to win her first-ever singles WWE championship.

Since that loss, Chelsea Green has delivered a farewell address, but it seems the former champion wasn’t the only one in WWE surprised that she lost her gold.

PWInsider has reported that plenty of people in WWE were legitimately surprised by Green’s loss, with the outcome of the match kept very quiet. Those watching the action backstage are said to have only realised Vega was winning the title as the match played out before them.

SmackDown also saw a huge TLC match take place as the Street Profits, DIY, and the Motor City Machine Guns stole the show with a classic encounter for the WWE Tag Team Championship. There was no title change in that match, however, as Montez Ford retrieved the title belts to keep them with the Profits.
