WWE Title Four-Way Added To Backlash
Another huge match has been added to Backlash that will see one WWE champion put their gold on the line against three challengers.
Jacob Fatu has proved to be hugely impressive since he burst onto the scene in WWE as part of Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline. Fatu proclaimed his love for Sikoa almost constantly during those early days as The Bloodline ruled over SmackDown with an iron fist.
At WrestleMania 41, Fatu was on the hunt for gold in WWE as he challenged LA Knight for the United States Championship. Knight suffered after competing in two matches on SmackDown before his big WrestleMania moment, and Fatu took advantage of that fact early on. As Fatu went for a moonsault looking to put away his opponent, Knight snatched him out of the air for a hugely impressive BFT, but Fatu grabbed the ropes to ensure he wasn’t pinned.
Jacob Fatu nailed two huge moonsaults to win the WWE United States Championship in his WrestleMania debut.
Now, Fatu faces his first WWE title defence, and it’s going to take a gargantuan effort for him to escape Backlash with his gold, and he has Solo Sikoa to blame.
Jacob Fatu Faces 3 Top WWE Stars
On the May 2 edition of SmackDown, LA Knight faced Damian Priest in a number one contender’s match for Fatu’s title. However, that match ended in a no contest as Solo Sikoa got involved. That prompted SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to make a triple threat match for the title at Backlash involving both Knight and Priest. But Sikoa wasn’t done interfering.
Sikoa pointed out that the prior week, Drew McIntyre had won a number one contender’s match against LA Knight, albeit by disqualification. Aldis took this on board and added McIntyre to the match, making it a fatal four way.
