WWE Hall Of Famer Thinks The Rock Could Be At Elimination Chamber
A WWE Hall of Famer believes that The Rock’s return to the company could lead to a big match at Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 40.
The first edition of WWE Monday Night Raw in 2024 featured a surprise appearance from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The company promoted that a former WWE Champion would appear, so Jinder Mahal did a promo ripping on the crowd until another former WWE Champion, The Rock, showed up to lay the verbal beatdown on Mahal.
When things got physical, Rock took care of Mahal easily with punches, a spinebuster and the People’s Elbow.
After clearing the ring, Rock did a promo about eating a meal after the show. While talking about that, the People’s Champion asked if he should sit at the “Head of the Table?” That was an obvious reference to his cousin Roman Reigns, which has led to speculation that The Rock will wrestle Reigns this year.
While a match between Reigns and Rock makes sense for WrestleMania 40, some people believe that Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia is a possibility as well.
WWE & TNA Hall of Famer Bully Ray (aka Bubba Ray Dudley) spoke about The Rock’s return to WWE on Busted Open Radio.
“One of the things that we’re not taking into account, and this I got smarted up about on social media. Australia to Samoa is a hop, skip, and a jump. There is a huge Samoan community within Australia.”
“This almost kind of feels like a Saudi thing where they’re willing to step up to get The Rock to come over.”
The Rock is half black and half Samoan. Roman Reigns’ family is Samoan as well, so that’s why a potential Rock-Reigns match in Australia is especially appealing at this point.
Could The Rock Wrestle At Elimination Chamber And WrestleMania?
As Bully continued, he suggested an idea that could lead to The Rock wrestling at both Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 40. Elimination Chamber takes place in Perth, Australia on February 24th while WrestleMania 40 will be on April 6th and 7th in Philadelphia.
“Does that mean The Rock doesn’t appear at WrestleMania? No. Because you have to screw The Rock over for Roman to go over at The Elimination Chamber, and Roman has been winning his matches by outside interference and cheating.”
The time around WrestleMania will likely be busy for Rock since he’s also helping to run the United Football League which launches in March 2024. Combine that with a possible movie schedule that tends to keep Rock busy, it’s not yet known for sure if Rock is going to wrestle again and his willingness to have more than one match.
