Ex-WWE Star Thanks Tony Khan After AEW Visit

Tony Khan at AEW media scrum

A former WWE superstar thanked AEW’s Tony Khan for allowing him to attend a recent show.

The AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door took place in Long Island, New York on Sunday night featuring the biggest stars in AEW as well as some big names from promotions like NJPW and CMLL.

AEW’s Owner Tony Khan has spoken in the past about how much the Forbidden Door PPV means to him because it’s a chance for All Elite Wrestling talent to interact with wrestlers from other promotions in the world.

While there weren’t many major surprises at Forbidden Door, former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker made her return to have a staredown with Mercedes Mone.

It was reported by Fightful Select that former WWE superstar Dijak was backstage at the show. Dijak’s WWE contract expired a few days before Forbidden Door, so he can appear in another promotion any time he wants.

On Twitter/X, Dijak responded to a post from Tony Khan about the show by saying that it was a great show while thanking Khan for having him there.

It is not known yet if AEW is going to sign Dijak or if he wants to sign with them. Since he was at Forbidden Door, it could open the door for discussions to happen and perhaps a deal could be made down the road.

Tony Khan’s AEW Expected To Sign Ricochet

While Dijak may not have signed on the dotted line yet, it is expected that Tony Khan’s AEW has reached a deal with former WWE star Ricochet, whose WWE deal has expired as of today, July 1st.

There’s no official word on when Ricochet might make his AEW debut although legally it can happen at any time.
