WWE May Test The Waters With Cody Rhodes’ Heel Turn At SummerSlam
Cody Rhodes’ heel turn is being predicted significantly for SummerSlam 2025.
The American Nightmare has been babyface since his return to the company in 2022, and fans believe the global juggernaut is gearing up for a character change.
The former Undisputed WWE Champion has revealed that he will continue to be a babyface for at least another year, but WWE might not wait that long.
Cody Rhodes’ heel turn will depend on the fans’ reaction at SummerSlam
While the idea of The American Nightmare turning heel is interesting, the change will not be easy to execute.
First, a stronger babyface needs to emerge. Second, the WWE Universe needs to accept the change.
On Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts explained that WWE may test the waters at SummerSlam by having The American Nightmare defeat the ‘real John Cena’ or possibly beat him bloody in a Street Fight.
He’s asking for John Cena to be a baby face at SummerSlam. And you know, Cody says sometimes doing the right thing doesn’t look like the right thing. What’s it going to look like in a Street Fight if we see OG John Cena out there and Cody Rhodess beats him bloody? How are we going to react if we get John Cena back?
And it’s not like over the top. It’s it’s John Cena. Super Cena. It’s the John Cena that that that we got at the Royal Rumble. And Cody beats him bloody. How is that going to feel? I don’t even really know for sure. Maybe they don’t know for sure. Maybe they’re interested in seeing what happens. Because as much as we’ll get this babyface John Cena again, we’re going to get a Street Fight. And usually when old school John Cena has been in a Street Fight with somebody that’s going to beat them bloody, the guy that John Cena is fighting is a bad guy. Like on top of beating him bloody and on top of it being a Street Fight and on top of all this, can you imagine we finally get John Cena back and Cody beats him? If we get real John Cena back that Cody’s asking for and Cody wins the match, are we going to be cheering?
