WWE Team Revive Old Name On Raw Return

One tag team is now officially renamed after their long-awaited return to the ring aired on WWE Raw.

The Viking Raiders, Erik & Ivar, have been out of action for quite some time. Erik has been out of action for over a year after undergoing neck surgery. His partner Ivar continued his career as a singles star in his absence but Ivar has been missing since April after confirming his own serious injury.

During their most recent run, the duo appeared with Erik’s wife Sarah Logan who wrestled as Valhalla.

Recent vignettes aired on Raw hinting at the group’s return with one report noting a major change was coming for the team when they returned to the ring and that has proved to be the case.

Raw Is War In WWE!

The taped 14th of October edition of Raw saw Erik and Ivar return to the ring but they have reverted to their NXT tag team moniker of the War Raiders. The pair defeated Alpha Academy on their return to the ring as part of a tournament to find new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championship currently held by The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

Previously known as War Machine outside of WWE, the duo became the War Raiders in NXT. However, their ascent to WWE’s main roster was significantly marred by the decision to rebrand them as the Viking Experience. That name was panned by fans and was quickly replaced by the Viking Raiders name.
