WWE Taking Precautions To Protect Top Star
WWE isn’t taking any risks.
At Crown Jewel, Roman Reigns will team with The Usos to battle any three stars from Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. The match comes after Jimmy and Jey Uso finally reunited to join Reigns in his fight against The Boodline.
However, according to Dave Meltzer, there are some doubts that remain about the match.
Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer stated that WWE has been doing everything possible to protect Sikoa. The star hasn’t wrestled since the 18th of October and has been deliberately kept out of any real physicality on television. But thankfully, the restrictions are said to be a precaution rather than a sign of anything serious.
It should be noted that Sikoa has not wrestled since a 10/18 street fight with Rhodes in Columbia, SC, and was kept out of the firing line in some of the recent brawls. He was pulled from a few scheduled matches with Rhodes since then. We were told it was more precautionary than serious.
WWE Forced Into Crown Jewel Changes
Meanwhile, WWE has been forced to postpone a planned singles match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodiguez.
The change was made after Ripley suffered a fractured right orbital socket on the October 21st episode of Raw. A week later on NXT, the former World Women’s Champion was left bloodied and battered in the parking lot after an attack apparently at the hands of Liv Morgan and Rodriguez.
The segment has been used as a way of writing Ripley off television.
At Crown Jewel, Morgan will face Nia Jax, with the winner set to become the first-ever Crown Jewel Champion.
