Final Two Teams Earn Spots In WrestleMania 40 WWE Tag Team Title Match
The final two WWE teams have qualified for what should be an epic six-team Ladder Match at WrestleMania 40.
At WrestleMania 40, there are several huge championship matches on a stacked card that could be considered one of the best lineups of all time. However, there is only one match that is a gimmick match and that’s the Ladder Match for the Tag Team Titles.
The team of Damian Priest & Finn Balor of The Judgment Day are two-time WWE Tag Team Champions who have held the titles since October 2023. At WrestleMania 40, they have to face six teams in what will likely be their most difficult match ever because it will end when somebody climbs a ladder to retrieve the Tag Team Titles, which are the Raw & Smackdown Tag Team Titles.
As for the challengers in the Six-Pack Ladder Match, three Raw teams won matches to earn their spots. These teams are #DIY – Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano, Awesome Truth – The Miz & R-Truth and The New Day – Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods.
Who Else Qualified For WWE Tag Team Title Match At WrestleMania 40?
The team of Austin Theory & Grayson Waller aka A-Town Down picked up a big win on WWE Smackdown in Uncasville, CT when they beat THe Street Profits duo of Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins. The team of Ford & Dawkins were distracted by Bobby Lashley & B-Fab getting beat up by The Final Testament’s Karrion Kross & Scarlett in the locker room area. Ford went for a Frog Splash, Theory got his knees up and cradled Ford to win.
In the second WrestleMania 40 Tag Team Qualifying Match, New Catch Republic’s Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate beat Legado Del Fantasma’s Angel & Berto. Dunne & Bate hit a double team Burning Hammer for the win.
That means at WrestleMania 40 in the Ladder Match, the WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest & Finn Balor defend their titles against #DIY – Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano, Awesome Truth – The Miz & R-Truth, The New Day – Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, A-Town Down Under – Austin Theory & Grayson Waller and New Catch Republic – Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate. It has been been announced if the match will be on April 6th or April 7th, but that should be announced soon since WrestleMania 40 is just eight days away.
